I'm looking forward to SH4 tremendously having fond memories of Silent Service II a long time ago. However, my library of sub warfare in the Pacific is extremely limited so I was wondering if some of the experts around these parts could recommend some good books on the subject.

Any input greatly appreciated.

WB.

Clay Blair, "silent victory".
Every boat, every patrol and everything else.
A complete operational history of US WW2 submarines.

Ordered a copy from Amazon when I pre-ordered SHIV. Always wanted to get it - and now seems like an ideal time.

Definately get "Silent Victory"

Also check out "Wahoo" and "Clear the Bridge" by Adm (Ret.) Richard O'Kane for some first hand accounts of submarine patrols in 1942-1944.

Got Silent Victory 2 days ago - am on page 50 - that means I'm about 5% done - and it is a great read and a great reference.

SUPER detailed and a real work of history.

Thanks for the info gents, Silent Victory is now on my bookshelf awaiting the arrival of SH4. Other books will be mentioned in dispatches for wife and children to NB for upcoming special occasions!

Thanks again,

WB.
