Color of the water depends greatly on angle of view and conditions of sky, color and brightness.
This is getting worse than saying all clouds should be either white or some shade of grey.
Go spend real time lake, pond, or riverside.

I've spent 30 years flying over rivers, lakes and oceans and it looks pretty damned real to me!!! The water does in fact reflect the skies appearance when it's flat. And yes, the wings of that DR1 ARE beautiful, aren't they!!!! (statement made, not question asked!) Copterdrvr

I live next to the Thames, that is pretty much brown most of the time. However it doesn't mean I expect all rivers to be brown. The majority of aerial shots I've seen of inland waterways are pretty much what is being shown to us here by Genndich. It looks pretty superb to me, the banks slipping into the murky depths of the river with a faint reflection of clouds on top....and if Copterdrvr says it looks real, then that is good enough to me, he flys helicopters and should know Me I'm just pleased that we are getting, what looks to be, a decent WWI sim, everything else is a bonus

Actually, one of the really enjoyable things about flying a helicopter is the fact that the visibility out of the cockpit is usually far superior to the vis. from an airplane's cockpit. I get clostraphobia flying an airplane!!! As helicopters have the ability to land in very tight spaces, it kinda helps when you can see the hazards that are waiting to reach out and grab you! :p I've spent almost 8000 hours admiring the view and I still enjoy the heck out of it-well, most of it. It should maybe get its own so new people looking for information will find a forum for it here.
More search matches.
Better organization of discussion and info than now.
You want new people to read 53 pages to pick out pieces?

KotS has nothing, or very little, to do with the IL2 series anymore after the engine change. 2.different things can be much better talked about if you can start for different things different topics

This is the only info I have found discussing game play, obsolete or not. Creating nice models and screenshots is the easy part.
