Yes love RB also. One of my brothers got a comp for Christmas 98 and the RB game . This was our first experience with gaming and gaming online. We couldn't believe the detail and how hard it was to handle at first . Took forever to learn how to just keep the planes from bouncing off the ground.

Two of my brothers and myself played and got 3 friends to play . Every friday and Sat night. Then comps changed and you couldn't play anymore unless you were a comp wiz.

I ordered Promised Land patch and couldn't get the darn thing to load . Too comp.

So saw this company that promised KOE . Waited eagerly for this . Then just as the waiter is bringing your long awaited food to the table he trips and dumps the whole meal.

Got excited about one game . Can't remember name . But flying in it is like being in a fishbowl .

Then Saw Over Flanders Fields . But comps get too bogged down to run it.

So saw this game and that it was being made by the IL2 team or engine and got excited.

After WW2 tanks ( another neglected area) WW1 planes is my fav.

Fishbowl game was Wings of War . Got excited about it and bought it but as I said the horizon is all screwed up.

The most amazing terrain though has Wings of War and outstanding Circus planes, highly recommended if there's a demo for a view to how photo-realistic future sims will be. Yes it's very arcadey and the flying is hopeless but the terrain and planes are a work of art and glassy framerates

I see that thread nearby about the Il-2 1999 report at Combatsim. Providing early teasing tasters of the world in there see it works it's why we are here... it got the buzz going and creaking wallet hinges

What a good idea! And BoB is the first of a series I think. Yes please Oleg I will buy that one for sure.

Even if for me the il2 engines is still one of the best looking

Definitely mate we still have not scratched the surface we've become blas. It is only because we know about BoB coming with the new graphics engine that makes us feel we are missing something \:\)

Hello SimHQ moderators, now that this flight sim is no longer based on the IL-2 engine, surly it's time to have it's own Forum.

Does anyone else agree?

Paul, I think there's plenty of time yet for KOTS (as Freycinet likes to abbreviate it) to earn it's own spot here at SimHQ. In fact, after experiencing the rise and fall of Knights Over Europe on its own forum here, I think speculating about a sim to be before it's sure to release, can amount to a lot of wasted words and effort. On top of this, GT has their own forum as you know, so it's easy enough to post suggestions or questions to the powers that be there about "Knights".

Hopefully the time will come that we will need a specific KOTS forum, but in the meantime the guys here on the IL-2/FB/AEF/PF board have been perfect gentlemen, and have expressed a lot of positive interest and feedback towards this WWI sim project!

Now just between you and me Paul.....we could do a lot worse having a whole new forum open up before Knights is near release, rather than staying here under the auspices of the IL-2 forum.....if you know what I mean! ;\)

Out-voted 2 to 1, your comments seem pretty fair, so will keep it here.

Personally I would have thought at this pace of development and the weekly updates that there is little chance of it not being released, unlike Knights Over Europe, which I also used to check in on a regular basis. After the initial 3D models & pictures we did not here that much else.

So lets hope that this does in fact come to fruition as there does appear to be a good amount of interest from here, I will certainly be supporting the GT team.

All the best

Is it just me or are we missing like..........the pilots?

I still havent seen a pic of the pilots who are suppose to fly these planes.

also, what are the chances of getting a Zepplin or two thrown in for good effect?

yes - so far only planes and vehicles...a map would be nice...or atleast the outline or boundary of the map maybe?

Since they have decided to drop Il2 engine it will be along while before anything meaty is revealed I suppose....sigh*

But the planes and 'pits, the ol' meat and taters of any flight sim, sure look good enough to eat.

Well Razman, these aren't exactly pilots, and that's not a Zeppelin they're hanging from, but it's the closest thing we've seen yet from GT.

Last time the Zep question was asked on GT's forum, the answer was not yet.....maybe later.

(something for an add-on edition perhaps)
