I’ve been very tempted to reinstall due to the conversation in this thread. It would be quite awesome if the three of us could meet up online and take on a boss!

That does sound fun, but at this point I will have to decline. I read too many horror stories about saves destroyed by hackers, and as soon as I do co-op , if I understand correctly, I'm opened up for invasion, and hackers, and I don't want it destroyed at this point.

I know you've been out of it for while, and maybe it didn't used to be so bad. Here's just one of the latest threads on the Steam forum of people hacked and having saves corrupted. They start falling through the ground, or have all bosses removed from the game and lots more

Yeah I've never had anything like that happen to me and I did quite a lot of coop when I played through the DLC. I was playing the DLC until late December of last year so I've only been out of the game for about 3 months.

It's been bad recently, and as fun as it sounds to get together I don't think it's worth the risk. And at this stage, the devs aren't likely to do anything about it.

Elden Ring Seamless Co-op Mod might be the solution for some relaxed co-op gameplay without the potential hassles of the original Elden Ring co-op?!

Yeah, that's popular and probably the best way to go.

I bit the bullet and got the DLC and man it looks good.

Don't you get a good feeling when you are about to play a game that you know will be awesome, everything is new, and you know that you will enjoy the exploration and gameplay and all that is to be explored? I know I do.

Got myself a six pack of Stella Artois and a big bag of Dorritos chili heatwave, sat in front of my 65" tv, Dolby pro logic earphones on playing a great game, what's there not to enjoy?

Panzer or Derek I'd be up for a bit of co-op, never tried it but think it may be good, especially on a few of the harder bits of the game.

Haven't a clue how to go about acheiving that though.

The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC adds a bunch of interesting new bosses to fight and a bunch of new weapons and armor! The enemies are tougher in this DLC but there are certain unique items you can find which will increase your attack power.

Bosses aren't my cup of tea tbh although to be fair I've not had too much trouble so far, yes a few frustrations were felt now and then but if I go away and try later it usually works out.

I especially like that there is usually some mechanic that is built in, be it a talisman, weapon or knowing the moveset that makes it a little easier so that's a bonus. I just love exploring the map and finding all the stuff hidden here and there.

I know the DLC is meant to be a lot tougher but enjoying my start in the new map.

Maybe if I get some more points into vigor it'll be a bit easier, right, right? Lol.

So far I've avoided the DLC. I've considered it because I thought maybe I could get some good gear, and maybe more smithing stones haha, to make the main game easier. But I've not pulled the trigger. What level is your character 3instein? Mine is 170 at the mo, but I haven't played much over the past couple of weeks. I've been down in the subterranean shunning grounds and not making much progress. Imps (and gravity) suck

I just checked, my level is 251 and I still get 2 shotted by some of the tougher enemies.

My problem is that I panic when I get surprised by a tough enemy or when going into a boss fight and this has been my downfall countless times. I end up hitting the wrong button, switching out my weapon or drinking the wrong flask lol.

With me being a castor primarily I usually have to be locked on so the camera has been my foe many times as well.

There are certainly a lot of smithing stones getting dropped in the first part of this DLC though. Have you got the smithing stone miners bell bearings? I take it you have but untill near the end of the game you are stuck on lavel 6 somber stones. I haven't unlocked passed that either.

I am just dipping my toe into the DLC but still going back to mop up and progress a little further.

DLC is absolutely gorgeous though.

Yeah, I totally get it, and I fumble a bit too. Playing on keyboard and mouse and I do get it wrong sometimes. I panic on occasion myself. I know just what you mean

I have most bell bearings I think, but not the top one for each type. I'm dual welding katanas, and have both maxed out now. My bow could use the final dragon stone though.

Yeah, the map designers did a great job on the DLC. There are some stunning views and areas to discover.

So even though I usually like a spot of multiplayer, for ER I will sit it out even if you gentlemen carry on with it. Just not worth losing all my progress (potentially).

Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well.

Still playing ER and have made decent progress the last week or so. I beat the Godskin duo no problem, same with Maliketh, the Ancestral spirit also fell, I somehow missed that one in Nokron.

After Maliketh the Ertree was ablaze so I made my way to the Elden throne to be met with Hurough Loux (spelling?) and Godfrey the first Elden lord. I sent them on there way pretty sharpish and faced the Elden beast which stopped me in my tracks, yeah, I'll come back to that guy.

Roaming around the Hallig tree and ended up facing Malenia, ooff, yeah I've tried about half a dozen times and cant get passed her second phase, I'm not far away so will come back, she will fall.

Still roaming around the Shadow realm in the DLC and beat the dancing lion boss and a furnace golem but not entered Shadow keep yet as I'm still exploring.

I bought the strategy Guide for the DLC and it is a beautiful book and full of everything related to the shadow realm.

Hey man, you're not alone having trouble beating her. She's the hardest boss in the game, according to many. That fookin' waterfall dance move or whatever it is called is notorious. I have not gotten that far. I was playing this game nearly every day for two months, and right around the time I sent the PM I took a break and haven't played much since. A few hours. I've been down in the shunning grounds but haven't made much progress. Even if I'm not so active at the moment I still like to read about it and talk about it so keep posting, and I'll pick it back up soon I think.

I played a couple days ago and I'm in consecrated snowfield, and came across a town called Ordina, Liturgical Town, and I guess there's a puzzle here. I entered an evergaol, and quickly got smoked by invisible dudes that grab you out of thin air and kill you quick. I must be missing something.

I'm sure that if you have the beast repelent torch or the sentry torch in your hand, or even on your back, that will show you the assasins and if I remember that is when you get their armour dropped. I am currently using their armour because it cancels out your footsteps and noise so enables you to creep around without making a sound which is invaluable in certain situations.

I came across a cave, Sages cave, in the Altus plateau the other day which held some goodies, crazy that even after 430 hours in the game you still come across things you missed and there are still things I've yet to discover, not many games allow that amount of freedom.

I found the full set in that town, the Black Knife armor. It was on a corpse. I have several torches and didn't realize I could strip these dudes of their cloaking. I didn't even know they were there. A message on the ground warned of ambush and then yeah, I was dead. I'm like screw that, and left after picking up my runes. I understand this is required to reach the Haligtree? Or something. Thanks for the info

Correct. You will not gain access to the Haligtree until you have gotten past those invisible enemies. To be honest I also got killed the first time I went there and I just went on YouTube and looked at a walkthrough. The walkthrough was well done so I followed it to a “T” and was able to kill all the enemies and then access the small bridge to the teleporter.

I just beat Malenia,yeah she has been the most troublesome boss to date. I had tried multiple times last night to no avail and was just going to give it a miss but we gamers do not like to be defeated by a mere game, my manliness was at stake here. Came into it today with a fresh outlook and got her on the second attempt, sometimes it really is better to take a wee break and come back to the problem but glad she's gone.

Been steadily going thru the DLC and taking it all in, there is so much to look at and find, absolutely loving every moment of it.

Came up against Messmer the impaler in shadow keep and he is proving to be just as tough as Malenia so heres hoping I can defeat him sharpish, already tried about a dozen times though.

Been mopping up stuff in the base game and find it incredible that I stumble on new stuff. Just a few days ago I found an artists shack in Limgrave, had never saw that before, same with the Stormveil evergaol, 500hrs in and still stumble on new things in the starting area, I thought I'd been through that with a fine tooth comb.

I enjoy finding various armour sets and different weapons to try out, and various ways of using them.
