I'm up for anything. I did a bunch of events yesterday including some I had not done yet, like Colossal Problem and Encryptid. The Vampire Handmade is great in these to keep me alive and firing.
Thanks for the info Wigean. I'm happy they are working out for you. Maybe you're a little more lethal now and can cut through the content a little easier. You can carry both if you can spare the weight and use the automatic for tough enemies at close range. And if you do some events the Vampire rifle will make it all more survivable. I think that rifle has +50% crit damage too so be sure to fire off some criticals to take advantage. If you need more ammo I can always craft you some so just let me know.
Level 25 will come fast so I suggest doing all you can to learn Handmade plans so you can build a nice one at 25. I can make you a new one too if you struggle to find them. Hit the lumber company and server hop to do it again is my advice. Snap up any Handmades that drop and scrap them for plans.
The double XP weekend was great, I must say. Not only did I level up a bunch, it also doubled SCORE so that was good progress. I hit level 113 because of this event.
A couple things that a new player may not know.... you can sleep for a short bit to boost XP through the Well Rested effect. Don't sleep on the ground, which can impart afflictions. Make sure the bed is raised off the ground. Playing an instrument grants a boost to AP regen. That's why I have that acoustic guitar at my camp. Well, I'd have a guitar even if it granted nothing. Guitars, yeah.
Criticals must be commanded in VATS. A new player could miss this entirely. But the meter builds and when ready hit space for a crirtical.
You can favorite weapons and items to your wheel so you can have a hotkey to swap weapons or use a stim or radaway or water or whatever. Obvious perhaps, but I could see some new players fumbling to swap weapons in the pipboy and not taking advantage of the favorite system.

Both of those give you some really good rewards and XP. I myself did Encryptid like 4 times over the weekend and I did Colossal Problem twice.
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”
Yes indeed Panzer Meyer. I had read a lot of posts about 'Earle'. But I had not seen him. He is one tough hombre. That also let me shortcut the Something Sentimental quest, since someone else had detonated the nuke, so I just waltzed in and got the pocket watch off Earl's body. Nice.
And I finally was inducted in to the Enclave. I went over 100 levels without knowing anything about this. There is a ton of content in this game.
I crack up everytime a vendor bot calls me chump or something.

There are also a ton of quests to do for the Blue Ridge Company. You can find them in the southern part of the map. There're an Eastern Blue Ridge station and a Western Blue Ridge station. The eastern station is near Watoga and the western station is near Nuka World.

Yeah, I talked to the guy at the end of the train track spur west of Watoga but haven't done any of their quests yet.
I haven't finished the gold vault quest either. But I'm up to that point with Foundation and have two quests to finish for Crater, then I will do the vault so I can get the bullion going. I'd like a set of Secret Service armor so I'm ready to get this done.
Panzer, what weapon do you main, or more on point, which ammunition do you burn through fast? Maybe I can give you some when we see each other next.

Mini Nukes and 40mm grenades. Thanks for the offer!

I have three nukes and a lot of 40mm. Next time you stop by I'll drop you some.
Thank you! Have you had a chance to try out that "Western Spirit" rifle I gave you?

No, sorry to say, even though it is awesome. But I'm specced in to commando of course so it doesn't do a lot of damage for my build. I'll hang on to it though so when I have a rifleman build I can try it out. Thanks for the rifle, it is very nice!

No problem! That rifle is one of the rewards you can potentially get from doing the "Western Showdown" event in Nuka World.

I've gotten a couple of Gunther's Big Iron six-shooters from events there, but maybe a different event. Good for scrip at 3-stars they are.
I have a -90% weight legendary Fatman. Do you think you would want it? I don't know which mods are on it other than the weight reduction. Weighs like 2. I can tell you later what's on it if you think you might want it, but I reckon you're set for weapons.

I appreciate the offer but yes, you are right! I am set for weapons. I think I have about 16 different legendary weapons that I cycle through regularly.

OK, cool, I thought so. But I want to repay your generosity in some way, but that's difficult to do for the man who has everything
I can do so with gobs of 40mm.
LOL! No problem. 40 mm grenades will do just fine. : }

I did vault 79 last night to open up the bullion economy. Now to find another 3000 bullion haha. This is where to find plans for end game armor, well, non-power armor at least. I guess I now have to meet Minerva, and I see she won't be around for six days and then will be at Foundation. Hopefully in the mean time I can boost my bullion stocks. I think I want both the covert scout armor and secret service. But I can't get both, at least for a long time. So I have to pick one. I think secret service makes more sense since I'm already high sneak and agility so I wonder if the covert scout will make much difference for my build. At first glance you'd think it would be the best synergy with my play style, but there's a limit to this stuff and I wonder if I'd see diminishing returns from scout armor.
Obtaining bullion looks to be both very expensive and a long grind. You can buy a limited amount, I think it is 300 a week for 6000 caps. Good grief. And turn in treasury notes for 10 bullion a piece. That's like a trickle, and when you think I need like 4750 for the full set of armor plans, that will take a long time. And it also means that in order to save it all up I can't buy any of the other amazing plans that are sold this way. No wonder Panzer put so many hours in. The best stuff takes a lot of play. I'll need to identify which events pay the treasury notes and make sure I hit those often. I think I have 1000 bullion as I start this grind. let's see how long it takes.

That's quite easy. On the map view, if an event has a large gold/yellow colored icon with an exclamation mark on it, it offers treasury notes as a reward.
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”
Turns out I already had 156 treasury notes, so I'll be half-way there already once I can turn them all in. Like finding a twenty in a pair of pants you haven't worn in months.

Right. You can accumulate treasury notes but you can't redeem them until you finish the main storyline. There's also a limit of 400 gold that you can redeem per day from the machines so that means 40 treasury notes per day.

One of the best events is Scorched Earth. This occurs whenever a player detonates a nuke on the prime fissure site southeast of Watoga. This summons the scorchbeast queen. It always draws a big turn out, and the rewards are top notch. I'm at that point now in my game, so soon I will have to throw one out there.
Farming and crafting stuff to make flux kinda sucks, since the materials degrade. This event spawns the materials (ferns, glowing and hardened mass and stuff), but also rewards the stable version which does not degrade. Plenty of legendaries drop during the event too. The enemies are tough, and it is highly irradiated as you'd expect following the detonation of a nuclear bomb. Power armor and radshield are useful here. If I am not deep in a quest at the moment, when Scorched Earth is announced I prepare. Fast travel to the survival tent nearby, break out the power armor, and wait for the countdown to complete. All geared up now, I mutter let's do this

Yeah, when it comes to popularity with the player community and the quality of the rewards, nothing beats Scorched Earth.
Have you done "Seismic Activity" yet?
