I wonder if deep down inside the management for CD Projekt regrets making the game in the first place.

I have to say that Johnny is one of the most enigmatic and interesting NPC's I've ever experienced in any RPG.

I think CD Project Red don't regret making the game, but may regret how they went about it. Surely it's made a massive profit, even with the refunds. Ultimately the final verdict may be how it has affected their credibility and consumer confidence which won't show until their next project perhaps.

As for Silverhand. I think I talked about it earlier in this thread, but at first I was like just go away dude. But as the game went on I slowly came around, and by the end it was like we were of the same mind. Clearly that's what's intended, and I fell right in line. Of course Johnny went through the same sort of metamorphisis, so in a sense we met somewhere in the middle by the end.

A Silverhand centered prequel would be interesting, although it would be a lot of work considering that they're bound to set it in the 2003-2023 time period when Night City would have been a lot different.

Rogue and Santiago might work too.

CD Projekt Red game source code is already leaking

Just a day after the official statement from CD Projekt Red the first data stolen through double extortion ransomware tactic is already being distributed on hacking forums.

A website called CyberNews has already downloaded the files and they were able to verify that the data indeed contains the source code for Gwent, a card-playing game released by CD Projekt Red.

On hacking forums data containing source codes for Thronebraker, Witcher 3, Witcher 3 RTX and Cyberpunk 2077 is already being offered on auction. The hackers demand 0.1 BTC as a deposit (currently valued at 4500 USD).

Just in: #CDProjektRed AUCTION IS CLOSED. #Hackers auctioned off stolen source code for the #RedEngine and #CDPR game releases, and have just announced that a satisfying offer from outside the forum was received, with the condition of no further distribution or selling.

so they caved and paid for it, lol.

Has anyone here done more than one playthrough of the game? With the exception of the "prologue" section, is there much difference at all between the Corpo, street kid or nomad stories?

The only difference will be the story up until you save Sandra in the Rescue.

That's it, it's all the same from there, aside from different dialog choices throughout the game, which I think is all smoke and mirrors and has no effect.

Honestly I was really disappointed how this was handled, the backstory you pick meaning so little

For example as a Street Kid I could have started with more Street Cred than the other backgrounds, earned it faster or had access to unique characters like say a fence or a bookie. Corpos could have started with more money and a nice car and have access to unique tech. Nomads could have been able to make more modifications to vehicles and unique weapons or whatever. Lots of possibilities. In a sense CDPR handled this like Night City itself. It's a facade, a hologram if you will. Looks real, but your hand passes right through it.

I use too many metaphors I think biggrin

Thanks for that info DBond. Based on that, I will eventually replay the game but not for a long time. I'll give it a few months for some more patches to be released.

Did you finish it?

I'll give Cyberpunk another go if there are any expansions I think.

Not yet. I'm working on finishing up all side jobs and gigs before I do the "point of no return" mission where I meet the Arasaka lady. I forgot her name. lol

dont bother, after you finish the game places you before no return so you can continue to do side job and pick other endings.

Last week I completed my 2nd play-through. First was as corpo, this one as nomad. As has already been said, there is little difference once the intro is over. Some different options in conversations, but also with no noticable different outcome. There was one difference tin the play-through that was not deliberate. n the first run I met with Mama Wells in the bar in rememberance to Jackie. In the second play-through I must have taken a different option, and eventuelly just received the keys to Jackies bike, but no ceremony with the friends in the bar.
But I also made deliberate choices, like always p!ssing Judy off, to the point that I didn't help here to pay the Clouds another visit - never heard of her again, but a surprisingly friendly message in the final credits.
Or first time I went Placides way in the GIM, the second time not so much. That has a considerable impact on that side story wink
More interesting are the different character builds - first time I went Intelligence+tech, this time I went more the brute way, and didn't use a Cyberdeck but the time warp thingy (ad brute I should probably have used the berserk instead...).

As for another replay, I uninstalled the game, but I might come back for another round once some expansions are available, but not anytime soon.

Thanks for that informative post WhoCares.

As for me, I finished the main storyline today and I was pretty satisfied with the ending. I'd say it was a mostly happy ending with some caveats. The final phase of the game really made me think and at times I felt like I needed a Ph.D in metaphysics to really grasp what was going on.

For my second playthrough I think I'll go the "street kid" route and play it more "Mr. Tough Guy" instead of being "Mr. Nice Guy" all the time with my decisions. Overall I was very satisfied with the game even with its few odd AI quirks and behaviors.

I did notice something interesting with the Steam achievement that you get when you finish the main story. Only 29.6% of players who have the game on Steam have earned it which means that less than a third of the players have bothered to finish the game after 3 months of release. I myself would have finished the game earlier but I was dividing my gaming time between this one and several other games. I'm not the type who exclusively plays only one game until it's completed. I like variety. smile

Low completion rates are a near universal. Different games vary a bit, but KCD is currently at less than 13%

I haven't finished it, nor have I even played it since early January.

I'm going to wait for additional content and DLC.
