Hi. I just read the book Viper Pilot (definitely read it if you have not).

A major feature of the F-16 during the Iraqi war was that they used towed decoys to thwart Radar guided SAMs.

I don't remember this ever being a feature in Falcon 4. Is this something I missed or a major countermeasure that was never implemented in the sim?

I don't think it is, and I'd be surprised if I had simply missed it.

That's a good book but that dude is nuts.

I prefer Rosey's style

It is strange that we don't have it in F4 since it seemed like such a prominent feature in the book.

Who is Rosey?

It's another F-16 book, called Vipers in the Storm by Keith Rosenkranz, callsign Rosey, of course. He fought in Desert Storm, flying 30 combat sorties and was part of the infamous Package Q strike

An excellent read if you like this sort of stuff, and if you liked Viper Pilot I imagine you would. I read this book over twenty years ago and to this day I fly Falcon with many of the procedures I learned from this book. My dumb bomb attack profile is straight out of Vipers in the Storm

I can think of no real reason the ALE-50 is not in Falcon, other than no one ever got around to it, but there may be coding issues that prevent it.
