Okay, so please allow me to brag a little bit on the middle boy, Jack, (16 and 6'0" without the hair LOL) who earned his Eagle Scout yesterday. Tradition continues!!

He’s on the St. James Academy high school clay target team and wants to spend more time shooting on his own to get better scores. But he’s also getting a job, and saving for a trip with about 20 of his high school friends and two of their religion and history teachers to go to Europe in 2019. Then he’s either going to be a welder (he loves welding) or go to college to be an engineer. Kid is super smart (got like 26 on ACT in 7th grade) but hasn’t taken it yet in high school) but I have told him a million times to do what he loves for his job...he has that luxury...
Anyway, his next thing is pretty much saving to pay for that trip. He will probably have that done by end of summer.

great accomplishment! He has time to earn some palms too, if so inclined. Both of my sons earned Eagle, but right before their 18th birthdays. What did your son do for his project?
Coasty, he has enough for the first palm now, and just needs time for gold and silver.
For his project, he restored an outdoor Marian Garden outside the original stone chapel at our church, pulled out a bunch of rose bushes, re-graded and re-edged the garden, and planted something like 36 hostas and remulched it and put in something like 5500 lbs of new stonework.the cool thing was as it is supposed to be, he led the whole thing with around 20 kids helping. The two adults there sat back and watched, and drove the trucks when needed.

our troop didn't meet last night, but we had a board of review for life for a scout who has only 2 days to spare. He has several partials, but three merit badges with 90 day requirements. He will have to use his time well. I'm glad we have leaders willing to spend their time like this.
Those 90 day ones have gotten a couple of boys I’m sure!
