Just watch an interesting program on the disappearance of Amelia Earhart. While the "investigators" on the show take some leaps (IE like an expert saying a picture is "very likely" Earhart then for the rest of the show they assume it is without a doubt her) they do present a lot of circumstantial evidence to suggest that Earhart did in fact land in the Marshall islands and died as a prisoner of Japan.

I always found it interesting how she (even before her disappearance) was so much more famous than other female pilots of her time. It seems like there were a lot of very good female pilots back then. Watched this a while ago, found it very interesting:

Ok but even if you discount the picture, how do you explain all of the other evidence about Japanese involvement including the purported eyewitnesses?
How do the Nikumaroro theory group reconcile that?
You have to understand, it is the photo that is disputed, not what happened to Earhardt.
Just because that photo is in question (I have read that the photo was published before her disappearance), this doesn't mean that she was not captured, etc. All that would be proven was that the photo in question doesn't prove it. Just like a photo of me at my sixth birthday party doesn't prove it either. The photo becomes non-evidence of the fact, not proof that the fact didn't take place.
So in other words, the photo doesn't explain anything nor does it make me have to prove anything else. It is unrelated.

Everything i have seen and read about that photo since it popped up convinces me the Japanese had nothing to do with it..but..stranger things have happened I'm more inclined to believe the old footage that claims to show the antenna damage explaining the disappearance more than anything else.
