Looks like they took the best parts of AC:Black Flag and made a full pirate game out of it.

Wow I'm all for more pirate and ship sailing stuff. Being Ubisoft though I don't know. I hope its a full fledged pirate rpg set in a more realistic and historical setting but its hard to tell by that CG trailer. I personally like the giant squid stuff too if its done in a mysterious and menacing way. I'll be keeping an eye on this one but would like to see more. Ubisoft tends to modernize the personalities of the characters in there period piece games too much which I dislike greatly. I hope this turns out decent. Thanks for sharing Bib.

Is it only multiplayer??? I hope not otherwise I will likely never purchase it. Thanks for the gameplay video.

This IS Assassin's Creed IV without the Assassin's Creed. Looks like the same pirate game play...same freakin' songs sang by the crew!! If I want new pirate ship skins and a new chick pirate (thanks for being PC UBI...)...Nah, never mind. At least AC IV was somewhat historically correct.

Yeah, they say it isn't AC, but it all looks the same. I saw no on land pirate work, so I'll predict this isn't ACBF/ACR in that it is a fraction of the game. I just don't see the need, unless you want MP. I prefer my AC experience and SP.

Since I'm a late comer to the AC series, the most recent series I played was IV Black Flags. within the last year.

I saw another YouTube video of game play, and the commentary is the exact same as AC IV. Not just close...but EXACT!

Now the pirate stuff in AC IV is great, and since I beat the game and am just cruising around as a rogue pirate fending for myself... this might be cool to the pirate noob, or the guy who just wants to terrorize the Caribbean areas...

No interest. Now if they made a game just like that about 18th-early 19th century naval warfare during the American Revolution and/or the Napoleonic Wars I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I'd buy Sea of Thieves if it were single player. These dev videos are nice and show how the game could be, but I'm pretty sure these preview video matches are being played by members of the development team who are all of one accord and who have the same vision for how their game is to be experience and enjoyed. I'd buy the game if I could always play it with those dev members found in these videos. I'd love a game like this if one could find a group of like-minded individuals to be able to also consistently play with. I think my best ever mp experiences with multiplayer were with a random dude who was awesome back ten years ago or so in Red Orchestra. We were teamed up in a tank and had a great two hours of fun. I had a couple of months of consistently playing Call of Duty with Top Gun and his brother Squid-something(I think I played some Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising with him too on xbox 360. Then several years ago I played through the Operation Flashpoint Red River campaign with Bill Grant, Conkris, Kramer, Recluse, Eugene, Pepper-something? We had team work, FUN, very little profanity which I like.(Except for the unit commander guy in Red River lol. Remember how ridiculous that guy was?)

This being Ubisoft, the graphics will without a doubt be downgraded anyway. So those who don't have it already should just get Black Flag in the next Steam sale.

Pick up AC Rogue when you can. It's the next in the Kenway storyline, picking up in mid 1700s with his grandson in the North Atlantic. Same gameplay with tweaks and a lot of cold weather environments. I got most of these games dirt cheap in DVD form on amazon.

I liked Rogue very much. I wish it lasted longer. I'm real unhappy with Uplay right now. I got about 3/4 through Black Flag that I can figure, I was away from it for some months and when I came back, all my save progress was gone. For some reason there's like two instances of Uplay installed on my pc. I still had it installed but when I went to launch it, instead of just updating to a new version something happened and it just re-installed and even though all my games remained installed, all my save progress for that game got deleted. I even had save files for the game still showing somehow but the game refuses to recognize them and only lets me have the option to start a new game. Ridiculous! I really hate aspects of Ubisoft form game design choices, their own personal beliefs and philosophies that they cram down our throats in some of their games and then Uplay. Uplay used to stink but got better but after this last scenario I'm just left baffled as always with what the heck is Ubisoft's problem. I really don't want to redo probably 40+ hours of stuff. I tried finding a save file online but apparently their folder structure or something doesn't work that way. I enjoy aspects of their games, that's why I keep coming back, but it goes without saying in my experience that any time I get a Ubisoft game I always, always, always am met with a slap to the face and a kick to the groin when it comes to some offense or flaw in the game and their launch software.

I had the same thing with that game, it was a common issue. A game update corrupted the save or something if you had the save done online. I think you could switch to saving locally to avoid it, but I never had the issue again on that game and (knock on wood) hasn't happened on any others.

I'll probably grab Rogue when there's a crazy Steam sale like when I bought Black Flags and all of the expansions for like $40.

One thing I do like about BF is that after the story I can still go on. I said I beat it, and the game officially ended in England, but there's still one final Templar mission I need to find so I can get the Templar armor...lol. Plus, I've only killed one of the giant ships...but I did get the great white whale.

Whale hunting in Rogue is really fun. Putting on your furry whaling outfit and harpooning up in the North Atlantic near icebergs is great and immersive. I usually play some Robert Shaw sea shanties in the background on that one.

It would be nice if all games like this..and Mad Max...would give you an option to reset the world for the non-story missions. In BF and Rogue, the fortress assaults were amazing. Rogue had the best city experience with the hidden assassins always after you and the best assassination missions with the gangs. You could play those indefinitely if you could do that.
If you haven't played Unity, what I like in it is that you get a wide range of weapons. Bastid (censored LOL) swords, katana, pikes, spears...that game probably has the best fighting of the ones I've played. No ships in that or Syndicate though.
