Having left my PC downloading the DCS 2.0 NTTR Alpha overnight I finally got time to load it and play about an hour ago. I setup the most basic of controls form my Mig-15 and loaded a instant action mission with all random elements apart from start from runway.
I'm running an R9 Fury with 4K 32" Freesync monitor at 4K and thought what the hell, whack all settings to max and see how it runs. Right after loading I was greeted with a beautiful clear sky early evening sunset and the FPS was a very playable 45-60. I was very impressed with performance, though I was at Creech AFB (I think).
I took off and flew around marveling at the absolutely stunning landscape and detail that was rolling past an a perfectly fluid 60 FPS. One of those rare moments that just made me fell so immersed and I have not had this feeling for a long time in a sim. Even a flight over Las Vegas brought FPS down to a still playable 35 FPS (Freesync helps here).
I expect to have to reduce those details once the weather turns bad and the action starts but bloody well done ED. NTTR 2.0 is stunning.
