Hey guys!! I FINALLY got my TUSBA R1 adapter in to use my new HOTAS Cougar throttle as a standalone with my Warthog stick today, and I'm having a few issues...

1.) I've got all the axes set up the way they need to be, and I'm using the dogfight (furball) scenario with no enemies as a testbed to make sure everything is working the way it should, but the range knob will not change the FCR range value. I have it set correctly in the Controllers setup page, and when I rotate it there, the input bar scrolls to show it's working, but it won't work in the pit. The only way I can currently change the range is to slew the cursor on the FCR to the top or bottom of the screen. The knob itself does nothing.

2.)I have the Dogfight/MRM selector switch set correctly, but the center (Cancel) position doesn't put the master mode back to Nav, as it should in the real jet. I have to press C on the keyboard. I'd like to have it set up so the center position actually cancels the mode I'm in.

3.) This one is not an issue yet, but still a question. When I watch tutorial videos on Youtube, I see that you can snap the FOV of the tageting pod (and Mavericks) with the pinky button on the stick, but you can also "slide" the view in and out using some other control. What control on the stick/throttle does that?

Thanks for all the help, guys!! I'm going to try to get used to the controls on the new throttle in 4.32 before I make the upgrade to 4.33. I just need some help to get on the right track. Thanks!!

1) There's no radar range in the real F-16 HOTAS, so my bet is that it won't work in BMS just by assigning the axis. The "range" name on the MAN RNG/UNCAGE knob is for... something else that I never used, so I wouldn't know.



It has nothing to do with radar range in the way you think it is. There are two callbacks you can assign to keys if you want, thou, F5/F6.

2) Wouldn't know about that.

3) You use the one of the rotaries, it's either ANT ELEV or MAN RNG when SOI is on the Mav/TGP AND the sensor is in TV mode... don't remember which one because I use key presses (I have a Warthog so no rotaries for me )




I don't recommend this. The game changed a lot in the controls department, so you'll have double the trouble. I think is wiser to go straight for 4.33.

Range knob used to select between close and far gun sight (when no radar info) ranges back before the funnel. 700' and 1500' I think. Today it does FCR GM/GMT/SEA fine gain and TGP zoom.

Canceling the DGFT or MRM override mode doesn't necessarily return to NAV, it returns to the previous master mode (AA NAV AG). If DGFT/MRM isn't reverting back to a non-override mode when the switch is neutralized look for "dogfight self cancel" option in the configuration.

Pinky switch for FOV stepping. Range knob for the TGP zoom.

For Dogfight Mode Cancel.

SPECIFICALLY:

In 4.33 it has been added to the BMS config utility so no need to go around poking through text files.

Heh! Good to know. One of the first things I did was poke through the text files. Old Dog, New Tricks, I guess..

Been there very handy that it's in the config now.
