We did have a good trip up to Seattle. Made our first two objectives --
Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument --
The second being the Seattle Pike Fish Market and Boeing Factory Tour. My brother helped me drive our dad, who is 84 and and wanted to see these places again. The Boeing folks were very accommodating for dad and another lady who required wheelchairs and couldn't climb the steps that the regular tour folks take.
This is the Finlen Hotel in Butte, MT. The city has many nice old brick buildings, as well as old mine tower structures in the city and on the hill above. It looked like it was quite a rich place when all the mines were operating.
The next stop on the way to Seattle was at Soap Lake, MT, and the inn there. This is a quaint little place with a Mediterranean flair. The Soap Lake is Montana's only mineral lake with black mud that has restorative powers. I have a pic of me in mud but you don't want to see it.
For our Seattle destination we stayed at the Silver Cloud Inn in Mukilteo, right on the water and next to the ferry --
Then it was going to be down the west coast on Highway 101, but my dad went Bingo Fuel so we RTB'd back to home. Did not go through Fallon & Tonopah but that may be another road trip in September for some camping and biking.
This was taken at the port of Astoria, OR. Lot's of trimmed logs on their way to -- Japan ? Oregon has some nice bars :-P
