^ Bwah ha ha ha hah!
EDIT: Hmmmm. It's worth a try. A game with so much to like but misses the mark on some critical areas deserves to have every attempt to be made enjoyable. I hope this helps. I'd like to buy BoM but ATM I won't. Maybe this effort will change my mind.

So, in order to have a campaign-like experience you must ALT+TAB back to desktop after each mission ... ?
I really cba with all that.
I hope the project is successful and the single players get a game at last

Unbelievable...
So many guys (including me) were/are complaining there's a lack of content for SP; and when someone releases English version of an attempt to at least simulate kind of a personal experience in SP career there's no response...
Strange.
No comments, no nothing...

No comments, no nothing... While the efforts of the individuals involved in creating this tool are not to be taken lightly, and I do not wish to belittle their efforts. I personally feel the following must be said. This is NOT a meaningful addition/improvement to the SP content within BoS. It is a thin veneer that does nothing to change the existing in game lackluster/atrocious (delete where appropriate) experience. To quote Jason "Simply put it adds a role-playing / character element to our standard Campaign system through a third party interface."So basically you load up a 3rd party tool that is meant to "immerse" you as the player. Before loading BoS, playing some single missions while trying to convince yourself they are somehow linked. I off course do not speak for everyone here, but the lack of responses both here and indeed on the official forum, tell me what remains of the BoS community agrees to some extent. Apologies if I have offended the delicate sensibilities of any BoS apologists fans. But I spent $99 for this crud and some thin veneer will not be enough to transform it from it's current state of turdness. In short, too precious little too bloody late.

It's a good effort to try and bring a little immersion to the SP component of the game, I applaud it and the work that has gone into it, but I also agree it does nothing to fundamentally change the existing sorry state of affairs for the single player.

This is step one in what will require at least 10 steps (well, depending on how you count and define them, but MANY anyway) to actually alleviate the problem.
It doesn't fix the problem, but it provides a good framework for something that could eventually fix the problem, so yay. Yet, as of now, it doesn't.
If my car is dead, so I have it towed in to be fixed, and they can make it start but it still can't be driven because it stalls as soon as you put it in gear, that's progress (from totally dead) but not really a meaningful solution. So, yeah, the campaign will turn over. Let's see it get in gear and not stall out long enough for me to go to the store and back now.

The Jedi Master I believe your analogy is flawed, here is a more accurate analogy. Red parts added by me If my car is dead, so I have it towed in to be fixed by an amateur car enthusiast who has no access to manufacturers tools or manuals, and they can make it start but it still can't be driven because it stalls as soon as you put it in gear, that's progress (from totally dead) not really a meaningful solution because your car is still not fit for it's intended purposeSo, yeah, the campaign will turn over. Let's see it get in gear and long enough for me to go to the store and back now. is still the same pointless non linked drivel that is aimed at arcade gamers.

If you take a boring game and create an interesting add-on, which you have to load from the desktop before you load said boring game, then you end up with a boring game with an add-on that you have to load beforehand.
Good job to the developer of the add-on, good work and it really is commendable.
Unfortunately it doesn't appear to actually improve the actual gameplay.
I don't want the hassle of having to load other programs to improve a game. The game should be able to provide everything in and within its own interface.
That must mean I'm a hater, according to some.
I just think I have reasonable expectations and believe that a product should perform adequately and provide that which it was claimed.

I'm not at home so I can't check this out for a few days, but this utility looks like it's morphing into what our Stab Diary provided in the 1946 version. As far as the single missions I don't agree that they are boring.....granted more needs to be done, but there has been progress made in a lot of areas. It's primarily third party work that's breathing some "soul" into his game. It sure needed it....all of us agree on that point I believe......But I tell you..I'm excited about this game...it's going to keep improving from the Devs work as well...

Well I am right there with you, so guess I would be called a hater as well, though I have no hatred in me for BOS, that would be silly. It just does absolutely nothing for me as a SP guy. I have not even played it since the official release of the so called campaign, just can not get into it. I keep waiting and hoping, but so far nothing that has perked my interest to get me to play it again. I agree, it needs to be from within the game gui, built into the game itself. Heck just a career mode ala ROF would have worked for me.

Yes, remember il-2 Stab, but due lack of proper game log in BoS you need fill the diary manually after play the missions - eventually some will call this way more ... "realistic".

If the Devs reach out and get involved with these types of utilities this game can possibly integrate some of these cool features or at the very least allow the players to make that choice...not sure how this would effect the downloading update process though. Do you think this is a major reason these tools will not be worked into the interface?

JW (777) was involved in Il2 Commander translation, but still the "Moscou has no interest" issue: http://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/topic/3197-...e-2#entry315082

"Thanks Warhamm. I look forward to the files to translate.
About game making log file. Please write to Loft.
I support 3rd pary devs like yourself as much as I can because players like choices."

Jason
This has promise, and Jason's request is reasonable. It still amazes me how Loft is holding out on even the really small stuff like a log file and other features that are already in RoF (like the ability to create in-game campaigns). Loft's "coup" must have been absolute when he commandeered the BoS game design. He seems determined to hold BoS to little more than Wings of Prey II which was not taken seriously by simmers. I still think Loft is focused on the reputation of BoS: Sim or Game, where nary the two styles can co-exist in his mind.

Looked at it. Still the same game underneath. Not enough to make me bother to load BoS up again, sorry.
