Playing around with the Reaper... The Reaper will shoot when set to CAP tasking; the Predator should, too, need to test it. The Reaper is approaching a BUK launcher group as the target for its Hellfires -- Unfortunately for the cargo plane, the Hellfire missile missed the launcher... WC

But... then the Reaper came back. The Buk tried to battle it out -- Don't Fear The Reaper, baby,,, Here but now they're gone WC

Nice thinking Crew, does DCS model (what I assume is) the lower RCS of the MQ-9? AGM-114s don't go far so I'm assuming it had to get pretty close but wasn't shot down. Also does the targeting pod on the chin animate and move to track targets?

The BUK launcher was engaging the Yak-40 and the cargo plane at several miles distance. The Reaper, OTOH, was able to fly almost right up to the launcher, at about 11,000', and fire off the first Hellfire.
I'd thought that first one missed, maybe it really did, when unexpectedly, the launcher blew up, followed soon enough with explosions of the support vehicles.
With the capabilities of the Reaper, me thinks it is time for that thing to find some Russians terrorists in cars escaping the wrath of Warthogs on the prowl. You know, those bad guys who would do something nasty like shooting down a plane full of innocent civilians.
---
I don't know if the Reaper's targeting pod is animated -- will need to look for that.
---
Three-day weekend in a few hours! Yeah!

Roaring down the highway, busting convoys up with miniguns. Just about as good a time as you can have in a sim. Thanks as always Crew -
Everybody gets everything they want. I wanted a mission. And for my sins..they gave me one.

3 million plus views- good grief!
Well glad to see people are still in it to win it! I've been watching some A-10C videos as this whole air force drama unfolds and the itch is always there.
Hope everyone has had a great start to the new year.

Hi Eno! Happy New Year! Yes, that last 1M came pretty quick! --- I wonder if you are going to notice a lot of difference when you get back into DCS World? It certainly has had improvements, and I've heard from others that mentioned it after an absence. There's this new editing tool called Witchcraft that I thought was going to be a time saver -- actually it turned out to be a time spender. It lets you see where on the terrain the objects are, and you can move them and turn them to fit the scene. I have ended up taking a lot more time that I otherwise would have, to make some layouts for a new mission... This is a Blue aircraft assembly plant -- And a Red rocket factory -- WC

Holy [edited]- (sorry mods but that's pretty amazing) no kidding! That would make a huge difference! Frick- the amount of time spent fussing around with vehicle positions and trying to put people in the right cover. Good lord, probably get a whole day of my life back just in the time I spent looking at the load screen.

Thats a bit much. We know our way around. WC edit --> Force10 and I had a private conversation, and we are all good here. He was doing what he volunteered for, and somebody has to do it. I sure don't want to be a moderator...

I for one feel safe that I'll never again have to live under the specter of fear from profanities on an 18 y/o+ members forum devoted to the art of mercilessly and efficiently killing things with apocalyptic hellfire from the sky.
Off to greener pastures

I certainly am grateful that there are rules in place here that keep SimHQ from looking like a polluted YouTube comments section with vulgar insults thrown around like confetti. I would think nobody would want that. Let's try not to de-rail Eno's thread any longer by discussing the language filter/rules.

Seriously, both of those bases look amazing..

And a Red rocket factory -- WC Please don't take this the wrong way, but I would really like to drop a bomb on that rocket factory! Yep that is why it exists! OTOH, Blue has to protect the Aircraft Assembly Plant against Red rocket attacks. Most of the map objects are in place. Now it is a matter of the timing of Red attack and the overall balance of all forces. This will be an A-10C mission; not decided yet if other a/c types will be included. WC

Sorry Dave!
Geez I really managed to break it this morning.
Hollo Pointe will be back up with the new BETA 'Back Of The Hand' mission after some editing.
