And what have you to offer of your valuable time?
Well, that's an killer argument, that is supposed to make me look like "I don't spend time on this project, so I don't have to criticise is".
That's not only poor but cheap. I will tell you anyway.
I'm not a modeler or programmer. I don't have the knowledge to offer my help in this project, but if I had and if I had announced it, like TD did, I would work on it straight on and force progress on the project until it's finished.
Otherwise I wouldn't tell anyone about it, and make them eager.
Or if plans have changed amid the project, I would inform the people that things have changed and what to expect, not keeping their thrill of anticipation high even with releasing a readme and then showing no progress afterwards.
You know what? I value all what TD has done for this game till v4.12.2m. It's awesome and most of it I would not have expected to find it's way into the game.
But how everything went with v4.13m, it changed all.
For example: I would never support an external project like the He-177, simply because I don't know if it would ever find it's way into a release patch from TD, after it had been finished. It's all about trust.
Interest has decreased in Il-2 Sturmovik: 1946, not alone because other games have been published like BoS, or modules in DCS.
Il-2 Sturmovik: 1946 is still state of the art in terms of complexity, flyable planes, maps and other options. No other game has to offer that much differnt options how to use and set up this game.
But if the community sees it beeing strangled by it's self-proclaimed developers, it also strangles the community.
That is what happened, and TDs silence has been part of it. That's what I'm questioning.
Sure, everybode else can see things more uncritical than me, but it seems that's only because they haven't locked the game in their heart and they simply don't care.
