I just learned from wiki that Toots Thielemans is actually titled, and a belgian: Jean-Baptiste Fr�d�ric Isidor, Baron Thielemans
He wrote this, and played it originally on guitar doubling with whistling, which inspired George Benson to double his guitar with scat vocal. Here he is playing a killer solo on his more well recognized instrument, along with Benny Goodman on clarinet, Derek Smith - piano, Urbie Green - trombone, Milt Hinton - bass, and Grady Tate - drums. A nice little combo
Oh, yeah, I should mention at age 91, Toots announced last spring he was quitting touring, but he's made the odd appearance in Belgium since then. Here he is with Quincy Jones using his other instrumental talents on a different arrangement of the same tune:
