Well I was just in Hosta again on my own trimming down some defenses for when the group joined up but unfortunately crashed again. Not sure what caused it but it's frustrating.
Should be on in a bit here- I got Wartweasel and EBD fixed so they work... maybe we'll get those going for old time's sake!

Well... Pop Goes the Wartweasel went really well and we completed without a crash- not every day that happens! I was ready to flip my desk over I got so mad at the AI ground path finding but we got through it and managed a win.
Tomorrow, I'm hoping to host Eastbound and down... I caution you, however, that the bridge / path finding issues may be in abundance. We'll see I guess.

Figured out the knee-board in the F-15C -- and with that, where I am and where I am going. The knee-board displays the flight path. The F-15Cs should be able to follow the mission flight path using this. There are F-15C keys for displaying the knee-board, as well as expanding it and making 'mark points' on it. It is the making of the mark points on the F-15C knee-board that is in the next screenies. This is The Bridge mission, how will F-15C pilots find that confounded bridge -- -- -- My F-15C location is on the knee-board in the lower right, shown by a purple arrow pointing up left -- Pressing the key to update my position on the knee-board, a second arrow appears - Now I am flying over the Bridge South waypoint on the knee-board, I found my target, the bridge at Hosta - This is a wide angle knee-board shot of all the purple arrow mark points I made up to this point -

Probably going to run "Stop the Runs" tonight... it's a pointy nose mission exclusively. Su27s and F15Cs on blue, Mig29s on Red...

Hollo Pointe just pinged out. I was about to finish off a MiG25 that ShuRugal started off. Just as the AIM9 was about to hit it went out. On a side note, Shu was able to engage and destroy 2 aircraft while his F-15 was missing a wing, so that's pretty impressive!

Thanks crew... and thanks to you guys for waiting me out while I took a couple steps back. It was what I needed and now I'm feeling a little more in full form. Ajax over on ED side forums helped get MIST and CTTS back in order and mission concepts are starting to work.
AI pathfinding is still maddening but seems we're working through that and it hasn't caused TOO many problems. A couple missed triggers but otherwise the last few missions I've flow really got me back into it.
I love the communications and the coordination out there.
Not sure if I'll run 24/7 or not... but as I begin sorting out which missions are working versus the ones I need to keep in my back pocket, more and more missions will be in designated folders.
I'll also post a file with all the mission summaries- I know that's been wanted for awhile.
Oh, and CREW... Get that MIST 3.3a loaded soonest. It might help with the timeouts- though Ajax thinks it might be SLMOD>

Hollo Pointe had a Can't Connect To Master yesterday morning. When I restarted it, it seemed to me that the pings to all the servers was better, right away.
Since then there haven't been any connection issues.

Eno... Just so you know we had issues the other night with Wart Weasle. There were three bmps that got stuck on the bridge northwest of Anchovi. Beans dropped a JDAM on them but we all forgot that bridge distruction is an automatic Mission loss. regardless I wantted you to know there were some issues. We restarted it and I don't think we saw the same issues the second time around. Don't know if they bipassed the jam or it just didn't happen.

Okay, for now I'll turn off the bridge demolition scripting. Thanks for passing that on.
The jam doesn't happen all the time... but as a result there's no way for me to fix it until the overall pathfinding is figured out.
Thanks for passing that along!

If there is a CA TC or JTAC slot available then that role can get into the vehicles and free the logjam.

I got all 3 BMPs with that GBU38 as well. It was glorious! More impressive if they weren't stacked in a veritable triple decker Bacon Mayo and Pastrami Sammich, all neat like. Kill 3 BMPs on opposite ends of the map with one shot- now that stands a chance to impress!

I got all 3 BMPs with that GBU38 as well. It was glorious! I watched from a distance and was mesmerized... it was a wonderful thing. Later Beans shot my Gun Ship out of the sky with guns from a tung from just outside Gali to just south of Anchovi. Heck of a shot killed everyone in my Huey except Peter Pilot.

Made some modifications to Korn on the Kobuleti.
A couple things I changed:
1) Incoming DRED armour isn't stacked on top of itself on the way in and is now more spread out. I've also tried to arrange it so that it avoids bridges. 2) Added a command center bombing task for A-10s. I might add some Air defences- but it's more about the hunt. General locations are given but you'll still have to look closely. I might put in a couple of "realistic" defences depending on feedback. I don't want it to be easy- but I don't want to throw an egg into a windshield either. This task is meant to partially replace the Cargo containers being delivered to Senaki since that hasn't worked. If you destroy an HQ, an element of your defense will be activated.
3) Added a couple of short range air defence resources- nothing far reaching but folks will want to make eliminating them a priority.
Also, spent 2 hours in a safety meeting today and had plenty of time to dream up new ideas. One I'm kind of excited to develop is what I'll tentatively call "Eno's Triple Eh."
The concept would involve an elaborate AAA (guns only) gauntlet for attack aircraft to suppress / eliminate for choppers that have to go in and rescue downed pilots. Of course, I'll have to randomize the downed pilots- say 2 or 3 per mission... That way the downed pilots can appear in a variety of different areas requiring different suppression of different defences every time. I'll have a couple of moving patrols, some stationary vehicles etc. A bit of the challenge might be how to keep the huey pilots busy while all this is going on... I know anything even remotely close to the 23mm is rough on Huey's no matter how expert the pilot so they'd have to be kept at a pretty good distance while the A-10s et al smother them with 30mm.
whoops! gotta run...

Looking forward to it Eno. Just give me enough room to get my A-10 up to altitude and out of missile range and I'll have Mol find targets for me in his Huey. He is a great AFAC.

Plenty of room, but a cloud deck that keeps folks from just plinking everyone away at max altitude. Guys are going to want to go in light and fast... maybe even go in with 82s...
I'm not planning on putting any missiles in though I am a bit limited in the AAA platforms I can bring to bear. Might end up integrating AAA platforms from other countries over to red (including US platforms) just to keep things a little varied.
I'm going to try to keep folks close to the deck- at the fringe of AAA range. As you go higher, however, those pesky closed positions become harder to see. I foresee some major "bait and switch" maneuvers as guys draw out fire while others wait to pounce on it.
KA50s, Hueys and Mags will all have a part to play... with A10ACs and SU25/Ts run rebel.
I have currently set up a variety of fixed / mobile AAA forces... set up randomly so it should promise a bit of an experience. Next is to figure out the best way to perform rescue.
Fridge?
I ought to pull my Vive Lost Vega mission back off the shelf and polish it off. It's a similar concept but a bit more realistic. My biggest issue was the AI pathfinding... it killed my ambition for that one since there's quite a bit of AI driving involved.
