I might need to take wartweasel off the shelf until that gets fixed. When I went back in yesterday morning (after the night you guys were in), it was crashed out with the predicted effects.dll... so someone at some other point crashed it.
They have basically put many of us on a "stand down" order with error reporting until the release of 1.2.7... and I've changed everything I can think to change about that mission that might have been causing problems- except ONE MIST function I have in there...
The reason I've left it in is because normally it causes errors VERY soon after the script is enabled... but maybe I'll give it this one more kick.
Eno, that's the "quick clips", just the fly-bys and formation cameras. I divided things into four videos. That preview, offensive clips, defensive clips and a final video showing the HQ takedown and group landing at the end.
so I went to move my computer from in front of my cold window to a warmer part of the house this weekend due to the cold snap we're having... got it all relocated, put back together hit the power button and nothing. checked all the usual culprits and the prognosis is she's dead Jim. I should have a pretty kickass gaming rig ordered and inbound in a week or so. :-)
That sounds awfully suspicious? I don't want to insult your intelligence but is there a light switch that controls power to the local outlet by chance? Any chance the power button at the back got hit by mistake?
Any chance that breaker is out?
I know, I know- probably all things you have probably checked... Does ANYTHING work on that outlet?
Or is it "dead jim" as in... "huney, my computer is broke- I need to get a brand new one STAT (for christmas!)"
Last year, just before the holidays, I ordered all the parts for the Hollo Pointe server from NewEgg on an expedited shipment. I'd planned to build it during my time off from work. But with the holiday package volume and all, my whole shipment got pushed out and the parts did not arrive until January 3rd -- when I had to go back to work!
Soo, lesson is, maybe Rider shouldn't wait another second and get that new machine ordered in time for Santa. And when he figures out what the heck is wrong with the old one, he can put a bow on it and give it to his dearest.
Tried multiple outlets and multiple power cords. And yes the plan was to have a new comp by xmas anyway. :-) Just is a bummer not having the interwebs. Posted from my telephone.
On another note, I'm just now discovering that locking aircraft slots is an available option.
Assuming I can make this work out with a little help from my "friends," I'm hoping that I'll be able to assign various slots to individuals- so the direction I see this going is you will be able to "submit" aircraft markings that you like, for your own aircraft and I will be able to accumulate a collection of user skins and "require" them to be downloaded by our regulars...
This way you will be able to get in YOUR aircraft, (which I can set a template to) and maybe even go so far as to bomb up the aircraft with your preferred load. Wesley... want to bring in 6 mavs and basically every other weapon in the inventory and a OD sharkmout from the 23rd? Sure... we can do that. Me? Well I prefer my 2 mavs and 4 GBU38s and a 7 shot of smoke... Oh yes, and of course with the 74th marking.
Anyway... I'm going to be working on that- if I can figure it out I suspect I'll leave the doors open a bit longer... if not... well- in the new year, the door is getting locked.
Interesting addition to the Huey prospects in 1.2.7...
Corrected missions for UN Pilot campaign. Added M134 minigun as door gun option. Added new M134 and M60 payload icons in the ME payload editor menu. Implemented AI fire control logic for left pilot, left and right door gunners. Added hint indicator for status and ROE setting of AI gunners. Implemented countermeasures (flare dispenser) system. Implemented external sling model and hooking assist system. Implemented correct throttle model including ignition, STOP, IDLE, and IDLE RELEASE functionality. Implemented hot start dynamics as a result of throttle mismanagement during engine start (WIP). Corrected main rotor shaft assembly tilt angle. Corrected collective control animation of the main rotor assembly (WIP). Visual cyclic and collective pitch angles of the rotor blades now derived from FM data rather than raw control settings. Fixed flight model bug causing erroneous warping in translational lift. Cockpit doors can now be opened/closed with mouse click over the door handles. Added seatbelts to pilot 3D models. Added new door gunner human 3D models. Added recoil visual effect when firing M60 and M134 door guns. Implemented airframe configuration panel in the UH-1H Helicopter Group menu of the ME to control setting of external hardpoints, IR suppression kit, engine lifespan. Fixed and updated Elbrus Rescue mission. Changed the logic of door gunner commands so that the 3 and 4 keys affect left and right door gunners, respectively.* Added External Cargo input category.*
*Changes in input commands require resetting input profiles to new default settings. To do so, delete (or rename if you wish to keep a backup) the saved input configuration folders (files) located in \WINDOWS DRIVE\User\User Name\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\UH-1H\.
Should make the Huey a little more offensive... Rework those mission

Eno, I'd would like a double kitchen sink as one is never enough, and a dishrack on the side. The faucet better have a side sprayer and soap dispenser.
My stereotypical "kitchen sink" loadout (if you make a loadout for me, name it kitchen sink so I can find it faster please!) is ECM, GBU-12, 3xAGM-65D, GBU-12, CBU-105, CBU-105, GBU-12, 3xAGM-65D, TGP, 2xAIM-9M, 240 Chaff, 120 Flares, 100% CM, Reduce fuel for 90-100% of MTOW. Preferred skin has been Canadian Cadpat, already included although I would like to see the new ones in 1.2.7 - and the sharkmouth 23rd is fine aswell!
On a more realistic note, my kitchen sinkery resulted from my first flights in DCS. I wanted to learn all the weapons without having to land/takeoff or make multiple missions. So I loaded up some of everything. Once I found what I liked - I just took more of those.
If there's a lot of AAA/SAM/or other radars give me ECM pod. Else, pair more Sidewinders. The rest, 4x AGM65D (or two AGM-65K for building toppling [G for night]), Three GBU-12s on 2/4/8, Two CBU-105s on 5/7 and TGP + Sidewinders. IF no heavy armor, HEI, else CM. 120/240 blend flares/chaff and enough fuel for MTOW.
I have to wait for Grimes to respond as to whether or not he has something up his sleeve...
In the meantime, I might put you guys to work on your templates judging by how much yours looks like it's going to take lol.
You can actually create the template for your PERFECT aircraft, call it whatever you want and send it to me. I can then add that to my list of templates and put it down in the missions. Anyone interested in having their own aircraft to climb into can do the same.
When the ME asks me to save the loadout, I can just call the loadout by name... Wesley Heavy, Wesley Light etc.
That makes it a little more practical.
Only issue this brings is the placing of mission waypoints- but for the guys who have their own aircraft, they may be fine with setting up their own.
The advantage of just doing "copy / paste" groups is that I can get an aircraft set up exactly the way I want with weapons, waypoints, skins, fuel, and ID etc... then just paste it 10 times. Then instead of having to adjust everything, I just need to adjust the IDs... Bort numbers, Radio callsign and Group ID.
So I'd LIKE to try and keep it simple- but I'd also like to step the mission building up a notch. A big part of the latter is going to be waiting to see that MIST functionality has returned with this upcoming patch... and that I can lock individual client slots.
