I've had that happen a couple times... fortunately it ended up clearing up. To be fair, that doesn't happen often.

Just so folks know, I'm currently field testing Georgia Peach- I've left it open and "prepped" it so it should be in good running order. There's a bit of an issue with spawning troops while a client is onboard- though the troops are technically visible on the server computer, they're not visible on the client maps. This is a known bug.

Fortunately, I'm able to "preload" the spawned troops so any subsequent clients should be able to see them.

Anyway, I'm going to try and leave it running throughout the day for feedback.

If anybody is interested, I've found a method for adding in-flight radio to missions. Works for music in general really. Nice to have some music when flying! I've set mine up to use UHF radio, which we don't use much in MP (unless say we started using TARS). Since more then one transmission can play on a radio at a time (*cough AI pilots*) - keep one sound file per frequency.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=102687

To convert music to .OGG for the ME you can even use VLC media player!
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

And here's some flying-esque songs:
Max Webster - Paradise Skies
Rush - Fly By Night
Chilliwack - Fly at Night
Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away
Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone

Danger Zone in an A-10 is like doing steroids to play chess. Of course I'm only speaking for myself... although a few good music selections for the task might be in order.

A couple of DCS wide tunes I've been thinking would suit a video quite nicely thank you very much:

a) Kickstart my Heart (Motley Crew)
b) Running Wild (Airborne)
c) Invincible (ADelita's Way)
d) Bombs away (Age of Days)
e) Bad Company (Five Finger Death Punch)
f) Tomcat Prowl (Doug and the Slugs)
g) Paradise (38 Special)

What music do you guys like?

WT, try unplugging all the USB devices, maybe one of those is causing the controls to go bonkers. As always, calibrate your HOTAS in Windows first.

I just applied the new Win 8.1 to a puter here and the darn MFCDs kept cycling in and out of the Windows Control Panel. After screwing around with Thrustmaster drivers and Windows calibration screens, everything finally settled down only after I turned on the Track IR and Centered and Paused it. Weird.

Wow - first time I ever saw that -- 'HOTAS' in my post above got turned into a link to Amazon.

I have narrowed it down the the keyboard itself. In device manager under Human Interface Devices it has the keyboard listed twice. One is the keyboard but the second is called Location 1(Razer Joystick) why the heck it is loading .dll/.sys files for a nonexistent joystick has me baffled. If I disabled this "half" of the keyboard, i can ow use my mouse properly in the controls tab within DCS. I cant find anything else affected either. Seems its all still working. I dont even have HOTAS plugged in while doing all this.

Turkey- can you send me your logs after a crash? Or a reboot?

There may not be crash logs by the sound of it- but if there is then please include the crash dump file.

It should write what's happening in your dcs.log. Send it over and I'll submit it over at ED. I'm sure there's a simple solution to this but were not going to find it here.

Firehouse is back up and dynamic weather has been edited out since we were just having too many problems as a result of it. Frames, crashes...

I do like the idea of it... and when I can get it working right (crew is already helping me with it) you can bet we'll see it again.

Hmmm. I really don't like this linking,,, especially because it is replacing the SimHQ page with Amazon's. Maybe this has something to do with the new Google policy to use one's postings in ad links? Need to look into that more.

Hey, that was a pretty fun w/e -- two nights in a row stayed up after midnight goodnight

Huey Apocalypse is a lot of fun -- spent a bunch of time in the Huey -- now that I can fire rockets, too. The Red *almost* won with minutes to go.

Eno's East Bound An Down is an opportunity to use the Red Ground Commander to confuse the Blue guys. It takes some getting used to, to set Paths that go well. It is a challenge to get the forces into place for a base attack.

---

The DCS World pile-ups on bridges is pretty bad -- needs to be fixed. I can go join each vehicle on the bridge and press the Autopilot C key and it will get going again but this is a real tedious process.

WC & Eno:

Jumped into the firehouse for Eastbound & Down tonight, was alone from mission start. Approaching target area all was going well. Observed the columns of BMPs and BTRs advancing to Sochi while killing air defences from 20,000ft with Mavs. The columns navigated along the roads and bridges fine. However, even though I was alone, I did encounter issues with unit teleportation. At one point, two columns were so close they were from a weapons perspective, one large column. I dropped two CBU-105s - one at the head end and one at the tail. Observing with the TGP, I saw the bombs reach target and the sub-munitions fire - at which point the units disappeared, the skeets hit the road leaving craters and the columns reappeared about 50-75 meters up the road. What we saw last night therefore doesn't seem to be due directly to player volume but an overall issue exacerbated by player count.

Reference image (post teleportation spacing) - see TGP screen.

On another note - the performance in game seems to be a bit more stable sans-dynamic weather, but it's just not the same without it!

I just chaulked it up to something being amiss. I got a redirect to the App Store to download Ages of Idiot Dragons or something CONSTANTLY yesterday on my phone. Really leaves a warm fuzzy feeling when you're reading something and are suddenly forced into a store for some time wasting game. I figured this might be part of the same issue.

Working on the new Herky Jerk mission -- based on one of the Hog novels by Jim DeFelice. SpecOps teams need extraction, but too far for helos. MC-130's are called in for their special purpose. Will need A-10s to cover the extraction.

The MC-130s are going to pick up the SO guys with the old helium balloon and cable method. The MC-130s will hold until the pickup zone is clear -- and then make their run in. The RDR is going to throw all of their pitiful ground forces at the SO guys -- pickup trucks loaded with incompetent troops and an occasional AAA gun strapped onto a vehicle.

Herky Jerks are happening up around Maykop, and down Beslan way.

Blue Smoke marks the SO pickup spot -

A few hills to avoid, this will be a night mission BTW -

Running in -

Neat concept crew.

I'm still working over Georgia Peach, breaking the sequels into smaller mission "days." Heavy use of randomization to give a new experience each time but making the missions short enough that they are easier to accomplish in an evening-

I've found that a lot of my missions are designed to run too long and few people have ever seen one actually accomplished- me included!

Anyway. Pulling many of my mission ideas from warthog and a10s over Kosovo.

Also spent a LOT of time researching the conflict in Bosnia / croatia / serbia / fmr Yugoslavia to try and capture some of that tension and add some immersion to the sim.

Anyone see what happened?

Error report is already submitted.
