Hmmm, I just may replace the Mav Ds with HE rockets. That would level things.

So what's the diff between an MK5 and an M151? Both are listed as High Explosive.

Wesley -- we were talking last night about A/I helos not attacking -- the new patch has the needed Advanced WP Actions in it for assigning these targets now. Previous to today's patch these actions were not available, --> the underlying cause why helos wouldn't attack, me thinks.
^^^ This changes the dynamics of the mission.

I thought the MK5 was more of an armour penetrator and the 151 more anti personnel- I'll have to look into it again though to be sure.

To note - in game I have only found the Mk5 effective vs. lightly to medium armoured targets, even in quantity.

I need some volunteers to help troubleshoot slmod: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1899708&postcount=638I am going to be reinstalling the adjusted version of slmod. I will lock up the server for this and the password will be slmod Anyone who can make this happen tomorrow night please let me know- if another night is Better post it up. If we can get this back up and running well all be better off in the open server environment.

The Firehouse is a server intended to help enthusiasts of the DCS series enhance their existing skills in a variety of advanced custom missions. Basic knowledge of flight and your platform of choice is expected.
MINIMAL (IF ANY) SUPPORT SHOULD BE EXPECTED BY THOSE NOT ON TS3. THOSE WHO CHOOSE NOT TO RESPECT THESE PARAMETERS WILL BE KICKED OR BANNED AS NECESSARY.
Join us on SimHQ's TS3 (free reg required).
Available Slots:
Blue: A10C / A10A / Su25/ Su25T / F15C / SU27 / UH1 / Mi8 / KA50 / JTAC
MISSION:
Eno's Georgia Peach
Six months ago, after months of intensifying political and cultural unrest, UN troops deployed near Gali reported that Georgian Armed Forces activity across from the Abkhazian Southern border was on the rise. This culminated in brief but substantial clashes between Abkhazian and Georgian forces that quickly resulted in the UN's transition to a predominantly NATO run operation.
Three weeks ago a NATO contingent of combat aircraft (blue) was tasked with monitoring the "Southern Sector" and to help deter further Georgian saber rattling. For three weeks the border has been relatively silent- but far from inactive.
Georgian regular army and paramilitary mercenary forces frequently use civilian transportation to slip through UN and NATO surveillance. These troops are running amok throughout the AO gathering intelligence and pre-positioning equipment. We are powerless to do anything about them unless they're caught committing atrocities in Abkhazian territory.
It MUST be assumed that Georgian elements have been pre-positioned for some time- waiting for orders to initiate their offensive. ANY Georgian MILITARY vehicles on the Abkhazia side of the border are valid targets.
NO ATTACK OF GEORGIAN INFRASTRUCTURE- INCLUDING ZUG BRIDGE- NOR TROOPS IN GEORGIA WILL BE TOLERATED.
BLUE TASK:
You will be operating in the GTO (Gali Theater of Operations) as a NATO "interference" force assigned to assist in the deterrence of Georgian aggression against the Republic of Abkhazia. You know as well as we do that the Georgians are thumbing their noses at us but we must remain vigilant in our task.
Intelligence sources have reported columns of civilian vehicles (betrayed by the use of military spacing) travelling across the region, however your ROE prohibits engaging these likely targets. We recommend, however, that you follow them to their destination and evaluate the situation.
ANY Georgian military vehicles west of the border engaging in Abkhazian defensive positions are valid targets and must be attacked.
BE CAREFUL! Georgian and Abkhazian forces use a lot of the same equipment. Targets will likely be distinguished by travelling generally N-NE or engaging fixed positions around Abkhazian cities.
OPERATING BASES:
Initial deployment into the AO will be from SOCHI-ADLER and BESLAN. GUDAUTA and SUK-BAB Airbases are available for resupply and repair to help expedite transitions.
AIR DEFENSE THREATS:
Georgian Army doctrine supports the deployment of mobile SAM systems in fixed positions and does not train to use these assets effectively in rolling convoys. Expect to see SA8s and SA9s moved into positions once areas are captured, while AAA (Shilka / ZSU-23) will be expected to protect forces transitioning across terrain.
Artillery positions, in contrast, will likely be protected with fixed or mobile guns and possibly MANPADS. The latter may include US Stinger systems in addition to expected SA18s.
INITIAL PRIORITIES:
JTAC GALI
Monitor ZUG bridge for suspicious activity and possible military traffic. The bridge is critical infrastructure and is not to be destroyed. If an attack is imminent, direct on station NATO air assets to assist but keep aircraft out of Georgia.
UNICORN (Mi8 / UH1) UN FLIGHT:
You are a UN contingent of helicopters that can deliver supplies and reinforcements to Abkhazian positions but cannot engage in combat. Move logistical items to troops deployed along the border in Chub, PIR and Gali to prepare them for the inevitable.
Troops will only be available for deployment once battle has begun. Deploy them where the fight is going- not where it's happening.
Landing at either of the NORTHERN FARPS (Warsaw or London) will result in UN privileges being revoked. You have been warned!
HAMMER (KA50) / HATCHET (UH1 / Mi8) FLIGHT:
You are a NATO contingent of helicopters patrolling the region for Georgian forces and mercenary raiding parties. You have ordinance with which to strike targets of opportunity- however your presence as a forward scout may be of more value.
JAZZ 20 (A10A/C) AKULA 30 (SU25/T) AKTIF 20 (SU27) MOXIE 30 (F15C) SOCHI-ADLER:
Deployed close to the Abkhazian Northern border, your flights are responsible for supporting UN / NATO helicopter operations and maintain the NO FLY ZONE in the South Sector. Your PRIORITY is to stay on station and deliver ordinance that supports their mission.
LONG TERM OPERATIONS:
JAZZ 30 (A10A/C) ARCHON 20 (SU25) AKTIF 90 (SU27) MOXIE 40 (F15C) BESLAN:
You have a longer flight into the GTO and will support flights from SOCHI-ADLER. Relieve them and cover their positions if they have to leave station to recharge. Do not cut corners across Georgian airspace as we have no SEAD assets to support you.
If stations are covered, you will seek out Georgian reinforcements moving throughout the Southern Sector of Abkhazia and remain available to support Abkhazian defensive positions or local JTAC requests.

Thanks Mol
I've started it a bit prematurely and advertised it over on the ED forums. I just wanted to get it started.
I've built a "free for all" mission that covers all aircraft types as well as a majority of munitions classes.
It's a little dry on targets and I'll need to add to the variety of target types but that will come later.
Currently it's on a 30 minute rotation with all hot starts... you still have to take off but that was mostly so that people could bomb up with different stuff.
For those of you looking to contribute the password is: slmod

What needs to be tested? Team kills, shooting up our own AI, stuff like that?
Banning, kicking and admin lists?

WC I think it's mostly stats issues that are affected by changes in the 1.2.5- 1.2.6 base programs... and speed has been gone for awhile. I can't remember who mentioned it was borked a couple weeks ago but this stems from that remark. The game has been reloading every 30 minutes or so- might need to make it more than that... and I'm going to be putting in a wider variety of targets. Admins are still admins- but exclusion lists are not in place... with that being said I have all infractions equalling 0 penalty points so you can go in and do what you want to do. Good opportunity to go in and dogfight... although I must admit even the thought of going in and shooting down a friendly makes my palms sweat.

I was about to fire upon another A10, ended up forming up, wagged the wings and banked away for A-G gun runs, and the other guy followed me.

Thanks Wes... Mol, crew and wheel- (the originals... wish I was there!) are all in the FH right now beating on each other. I can only see the "hit" lists but it looks chaotic.
Turk- glad to hear you're back in action!

Well at the end I was Winchester with the exceptions of winders I was getting ready to pickle on you when the server rolled...lol another 5 minutes and you would have thought differently of me.

God you're up early mol!
Anyway, I did get a kudos from Grimes for all your help in establishing some of the bugs that had cropped up in the last couple versions of DCS with the recent build of SLMOD. I have been told I can resume normal missions again...
Be advised- I am reinstituting the autokick / ban functionality (well, it was always on- it just didn't work for the last couple months) in the server. Those of you I see regularly enough, or who have demonstrated a good community spirit are being quietly shuffled into an "exclusion list" that allows more latitude. The reasoning behind this is that "mistakes" are a little easier to digest when it's coming from someone who has proven themselves in the spirit of the server.
I make these assessments during my reviews of the chat logs as well as here in the forums- DCS as well as SimHQ. In some cases I need to wait until the UCID pops up somewhere... For example Wesley and "Soul" (from ED) were recent additions. I think most other regular contributors here (yes X-ray, you still count... if you're still reading!) Heck, I even saw Lucky 812 post in a thread not long ago... I wonder if he's still around?
Going back that far, however, the UCID format had been changed so you'll need to come in and give us a shout some day if you ever get back in the air... well... in the virtual air!
Crew- I'm going to forward you the updated script folder. All you need to do is copy it into your saved games / dcs folder- and that's it.

Wesley, Did the last edit to Huey Apocalypse work out right? There are not LAU-88 TERs specified in the Resources Manager so I cannot specifically limit the 3x racks -- but maybe since the a/c is originally loaded out with singles, that will prevent maxing out the stations. I also changed the gun ammo to HE, and the rockets to M151s. --- Is Wesley your real name? What about a handle, like 'Crusher'? Then your initials would be 'WC'. WC

Yes, my real name is Wesley. I have been compared to Crusher and Snipes before aswell as my uncle's old neighbor Wesley who shared the exact same middle name (and he is a pilot now). My last name makes a reasonable call sign which I may use in the future. Otherwise I used to go by Apache (Xbox live and FSX), Havoc, and Tiburtius (RPGs only - I go latin). However those names are often taken so here I took my name and surprisingly it was free!
-------- On the mission - having TERs just lets people go bonkers on ordinance which is okay I guess as it would limit their maneuverability. Rockets if you can take the other types out of the warehouse - no need for practice/smoke/WP (m156)/HEAT (mk5). Could keep them if there is light armour and we target mark - otherwise not needed. I saw a guy run in firing white phosphorous rocket at the towers which obviously did nothing. Might help avoid frustration to new players that don't know all the types.
The helicopters still don't seem to attack. Also, that one downed pilot at the main camp is always "rescued" by nobody. Maybe he dies and it counts? As for weapons, I have found rockets not too useful (except en masse) and same with bombs (hard to hit precisely - which is good!). I mainly run in with the gun, 100-300 rounds is enough. I suggested HEI as it makes the gun more effective, buildings don't need depleted uranium rounds!
The watch towers seem to put out a lot of fire! What are they supposedly armed with?
Overall, A10 I can still complete under 30 minutes. If possible, maybe add more SAMs to delay A10s getting to target so Huey's get a chance to kill stuff. If it can be done, make SAMs only target fixed wings and they could be placed a bit closer to the AO.
It's getting better, I'll run a few more sorties soon to get more info.

I can answer as to why somebody loaded up with WP. When I was in there the other night. The Limit of HE Rockets had been met and the only things that were left were WP. I have seen this happen in a few other missions. I think each rocket counts for 1 so a 19 pod would count for 19. If you loaded out 4 pods. Thats 76 rockets and if you think of the amount of people who were playing there may have been 4 A-10s acocunting for 304 rockets. If the Mission Mod had the cap at 100 then it would have well exceeded the limit. Leaving the only thing left to fire WP. Better than nothing, at least keep the enemy's head down... Also Wheel was working the Huey's and found that only flying over the downed pilots he was able to pick them up. So maybe the Trigger Zone altitude is off or something along those lines. Great mission though Crew we had a blast I can't wait to play it again after the mods you told me about last night.
