Hmmm... funny, I've flown 3 campaigns now (default Korea) and have not seen the "Wall of MiGs"... must be year/theatre-dependent?

How'd that mission turn out though? Silk ride?

No, it was a failure. I didn't RTB quick enough, so i got shot down. I will try again today with default theater and focusing on escort missions.

But I have no idea why RWR didn't pick them up...

No idea, too. (maybe GCI with radar turned off biggrin )
But always press the handoff button left from the RWR while startup.

It was either a two-ship sead escort or standard AA escort if that's what you mean.

There was no prior fighter sweep to gain air superiority, i guess i'd have to make my own.

But the theater is great. It includes Carrier war, so once the Bug comes out in the next update, this will be the theater to fly in.

I am asking about the red and yellow squares which I assume to be datalink symbology. I havent seen that yet. Is this BMS 4.32? Is it campaign specific? I only ever see the yellow two triangles but never a datalink thing like this. Do you have a picture of the HSD at the same time? Does it also have this info on it? If so I'm curious how to enable it. Cause it looks better than the IDM datalink.

That's not the datalink, but a Track-While-Scan radar mode. Yellow squares are enemies being tracked and red are lost contacts, i think. I (still) haven't figured out this mode completely. All I know is, it soft-locks the target, so the enemy doesn't know you're locking him and you can shoot multiple slammers into tracked targets. But you have to keep radar lock until the missile's onboard radar takes over.

Datalink are only two green friendlies, everything else is the enemy.

Ah i see. I wonder how it determines what is hostile and what is unknown. Too bad. I got my hopes up smile

The yellow squares are tracks, meaning up to ten contacts being tracked over time.
The red squares are tracks that have been lost - probably outside the radar gimbal limits, or they were shot down.
The green guys are allies from the data link.
The other white boxes are search contacts. TWS has a max of ten contacts it can maintain history for, the rest are shown as basic search returns with a lower level of info.
