No worries - in the meantime I just went and bought it, installed and had a quick test I'll have to gen-up on my JTAC procedures - then if my joints are still seized next month I can still make a contribution. I can see the map interface requires a little tidying up, though.

Sounds good to me! I've never had the chance to play with a human JTAC -- looking forward to it.
Gonna have to brush up on things too.

So I take it you'll only be assigning JTAC and/or observer positions rather than ground force commander?

No observers, prolly, don't need to take up bandwidth with those.
And prolly not any Game Masters, either, but I am experimenting with one in a new mission... It's a nice feature for the development stage.
There will be either (or both?) JTAC and Ground Force Commanders in many missions. I think I know what the differences are, but it is still a bit new to me. I think the JTACs can only get in vehicles and operate them, while Ground Force Commanders can direct ground groups to a destination and set ROE and targets as well as operate vehicles.

Yes, WC, I was just reading up on it earlier. The ground force commander is the chap in charge of all of one side's ground troops and can also do JTAC. There can be two - one for each side. The JTAC is just that and no more. The GM has command over all assets on both sides and there can also be two (how that would pan out is anyone's guess!) which DCS don't recommend for online play, apparently. I wonder why... tbh I'm not really interested in the command thing. Used to really enjoy it in BF2, but that was some years ago, nowadays I just can't be bothered.

Mace - SimHQ Teamspeak. We'll most likely have two major channels for the two servers, and Red and Blue channels under those. I am pretty sure that anyone can create temporary sub-channels. There is no requirement to use Teamspeak - do be sure your chat key is programmed - I use Tab for Message To All and Left Shift Tab to Allies (Alt-Tab is not recommended for this ). I will use the chat often when taxiing/taking off and landing, and especially for emergency landings! No problem using another TS server - what ever folks want to do... But folks on the SimHQ TS are generally polite and helpful. --- I'll take this opportunity to mention that I was flying with buddies a week or three ago and my wife said the next day that we were all using inappropriate language at times. That was a reminder that our family members can hear what is being said so do be mindful. WC

will there be any P-51D's in the missions ? Hi Michiel, Not generally... In the few missions that do have P-51Ds, they are limited by fuel. But by your asking, I will see about adding a few more where they fit into the scenario. I want to post a loose schedule for the Hollo Pointe server - if I do, I'll add what aircraft types the missions contain. I need to run through all my missions with a few tweaks over the next couple of weeks. We do want to encourage everyone to join in over the Fly-In weekend. Even if you are fairly new at the controls, or are wondering how you will do in Multiplayer, give it a try. Lots of new names in this thread. Looking forward to a good crowd! WC
