So, show us your successes, your dissasters, or just plain anything KSP.

To kick it off,

Re-entry is hot stuff !!

My contribution to this fantastic space simulator/game!

ORION 1 Rolled Out To Launch This Evening!

Successful Launch!

Beautiful stage burn

Perfect Gravity Turn (Thanks to MechJeb)

On our way to Duna (equivalent to the Human's Mars)

Inspecting landing colony ship/base for any damage before reaching the point of no return!

Checking all the systems before aerobraking into Duna!

Extended solar panels to make sure batteries are fully charged before landing.

Landed successfully next to our mini-nuclear reactor and recon ship that holds our rover!

Taking out the rover from Recon colony base/ship.

Checking in with crew members before heading out (you can observe how stupid they are by standing next to the nuclear reactor exhaust).

Nice duna base!

Working on an interplanetary mothership to head to jool. Was PITA to launch in one piece (lander separate).

However, I think the spinning gravity ring has to go, it spun for a bit and then somehow tore the ship in half sigh .
The ring went flying towards kerbin like a giant frisbee of doom...

But I guess it wouldn't be KSP if half the ship isn't shoddy construction that might suddenly kill everyone without warning biggrin .

Thank you.
Gonna get me those also.
Didn't know anymore what works okay and what not after the updates to 0.17 and then to 0.18 smile

I was using pretty much the same (KW rocketry, TKS, mechjeb) and
-TSpod by T-Space
-Weyland station O-rings

One more pic, working on a efficient, light, single stage space plane. To start I've been trying to make a very good atmospheric plane to handle the climb. Current version does 2km/s on atmospheric engines (mach 5.8?) and 45km altitude if you use that to launch it vertically. Personal best so far. Just needs some rockets I think. But I got sidetracked trying to see how fast I could cross the ocean east of KSC on air breathing engines (so far stuck at 5 min). Uses Taverio's aerospace pack for the shock cone intake and 2 engine fuselage at the back.

Great pics indeed. This sim is so enjoyable, you can call it a game. Or is it an enjoyable game that is so good, you could call it a sim ?

Anyway gotto kill utilise some more Kerbals.

Docking really adds that extra dimension to the game.

KSP v0.18 does provide the option to create space stations! Here is my attempt on making one with micro-gravity in mind:

Very nice indeed ! Hard to tell from the pics, but did you launch that one all in one piece or did it require some orbit assembling THX ?

Here's some shots of my first succesful two-ship mission to the Mun : Booster I and Settler I, launched separately, meet up in orbit and burn for the Mun :

Last view of home and first glimpse of Minmus from the flight deck before going to the dark side :

A little later, initiating descent to the Mun :

On the surface

The landing did not quite go as planned : I had completely forgot about the need to re-activate the landing stage engines, and as I toggled them on one by one while applying heading corrections (I know...) the lander started tumbling out of control under 10k meters, bounced off the surface and lost its legs and one engine. It's a miracle it didn't explode on impact. I'll have to remember to check my landers after separating from other modules, and preferably before it's too late...

Assessing damage :

Then attempting to return home on foot... Bloody Kerbals !

Cheers

Nico

Great shots! I know there has to be more KSP players here since it was at SimHQ that I got the word for this great game! Here are a few more:

NOTE: These are shots from KSP v0.17 with mods

Going to the Mun (similar to our Moon)!!! Wooohoooo!!!!

Checking instruments....hey! Where is Jeremiah?!!! He is not in his seat!!!

What the?!!! There he is! Outside!! Are you crazy?!!!!!

Jeremiah is making sure there are no holes in the capsule and that all the superglue dried up in time before going to the mun.

We got a long way to go! The mun looks so far away.

Finally made it! Landed on the mun successfully now let me see if little Jeb can step off the ship without breaking something.

One small step for .....umm....for.....ummm, I don't know! Oh well...let me just jump off the ladder.

Wow! What a big dusty playground. Hello? Is anyone out here?!

Umm...Hello? ...ehhh...no one really here? Where is all the cheese that we were promised by Mission Control?

Looking for that cheese with my comrades....where is it?!!! Can't find anything! What a waste of a trip! No cheese!

More fun awaits with KSP!!!

Yesterday I realized I'd never been to either of the poles on the Mun. So here's a landing on the rugged north pole.

This is a great shot B25Mitch! Like your lander and how it landed on that slope without sliding! Not easy!

Here is a recent shot from KSP v0.18.1:

Coming down fast on Duna!

Different angle from the same shot.

Here is some more. Playing around with KSP 18.2
Mods = mechjeb, H.O.M.E, Heatsheild.

No shots of the launch sorry as i seem to have a bit of a bug which i have been trying to troubleshoot.

Aim is to build my first orbital space station. Phase one, the habitat.

Launch went well and the habitat and renetry vehicle have made a stable and safe oribt.
Solar panels deployed and i also like the attachable flood lights (which consume power).

Jeb is the first to EVA moving from the Launch/re-entry vehicle and moves to the command module of the first part of the station. The habitat consists of the H.O.M.E. habitat, All the scientific sensors, communications array, 2 x large solar panels, 4x side mounted batteries and a 5 port docking connector to enlarge the space station. Jeb, inspects the panels before taking command of the station (should i let Jeb be the one to command the station ?)

Bob is the next to EVA and now with the hatches to the habitat deployed - Bob manouvers to inspect the delpoyables including the hydroponics before enterting the habitat to take up duties looking after all inside.

Bill is left on board looking at the curve of kerbin and the empty seats next to him. Then as the window approaches, Bill seperates from the new station and with a few burts of RCS, moves gently away. From here he feels bored and fires up mechjeb to intercept the re-entry window for the KSP centre back on Kerbin.

Mechjeb does a fine job firing the boosters and precisely lining up to intercept KSP command. WHen landing is assured and before everything gets too hot, Bill jettisons the thrusters to leave all the hard work to the heat shield to protect him inside.

However this is where it all ends rather badly (no shots of the impending doom i'm sorry). I am not sure if there is a bug between my game and the controller, but as i tried to line up the heat shield prograde (it should weather cock anyway) i pushed my rudder pedals gently however the game put in and locked down full left yaw. The capsule began to spin wildly and no efforts (with or without mechjeb could recover the situation. As the atmosphere thickened, flames from the superheated atmosphere started licking all around the capsule. But without the needed heat shield pointing the correct direction, all the important bits on Bill's capsule began to self destruct one by one.

The capsule remained intact however - but this would only prolong Bill's demise, as the re-entry parachute was destroyed by the heat and uncontrolled tumbling. Bill made KSP command, just a lot faster than he liked !!!!

A typical KSP mission then? biggrin

Great shots, I've struggled to even get into orbit since 0.17.

In KSP any landing you reach the ground is a good landing biggrin
