When using the SA-4 in El Dorado Canyon with invulnerable mode selected, I have the SNR active continuously. When the first HARM hits, the simulation automatically exits to the after action report. This behavior does not occur with the other SAM systems when invulnerable mode is selected.

Think someone else also mentioned... Should be a bug...
Also when shooting against P-15 on Ustka, missiles droped down into the sea, don't know why...

It is a bug, and the correction will be in the next version.

Hpasp seems to be right on this one, the -50 seems to be some sort of lens or other type of reflector, creating a larger RCS than the aircraft and thus seducing the missile away, or at least moving the reflection centroid behind the aircraft.

I still don't think so and I still believe that the AN/ALE-50 acts as active jammer. Here's another "evidence" that seems to confirm that the AN/ALE-50 acts or can act as a jammer. The source is in this book:
http://books.google.pt/books?id=Y8kePYFK...ing&f=false

There you can read:
"It (the ALE-50) is a repeater jammer which repeats the received signal at a higher power level"

In the same entry it also states that the ALE-50 Decoy Operation mode is: RF and ACTIVE.

This same book/link also have an entry on the more advanced AN/ALE-55.

KRUG is not suited against low altitude targets.
Minimum target altitude is 250~150m

Dear Comrade,

Please describe the reasoning behind your missile guidance method selection.

biggrin

The KRUG is missing the K method, so it can easily guide the missile into the ground.

The firing manual states:
If the target is less 500m, it can be fired only at 18km
If the target is less 250m, it can be fired only at 14km

You are warned to this situation by a YELLOW h<5 lamp.

Also be aware, that the P-15 changes its altitude during flight. (Even Patriots failed to intercept it in Kuwait.)

Great article about Operation Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector!
(2011 Libya)

In 2011, a US and NATO-led air campaign attacked various military targets in Libya in support of anti-Qaddafi elements seeking to overthrow the Libyan ruler. Close analysis of the targets struck and the resultant effects on the Libyan military provide insight into the planning and execution of future military efforts designed to aid internal actors revolting against existing governments.

1. Same with T/T.
2. All missiles fail to fly over 8 km distance.

its normal.... just try and watch your distance! when p-15 come to 10km from u... u have to launch your missile! if 10km change to 8 .. u loose also of 10km change to 12 u loose!

keep your eyes at 10km

Yep... I cannot understand the mechanics of this thing either... Hpasp told us that when missile approaches the target, the SIM does measurements more frequently (on every 1/100 of the second, compared to 1/10 of the second if I remembered right), so this creates those peaks in the 3D AAR, but I cannot understand why...

This makes sense - the closer to target, the more precision is needed.
I have seen a graph of K1 and K2 commands at Neva system - from launch to hit. As the missile gets closer, frequency of commands dramatically increases.
