There is no "documentation" to speak of except for license agreements EVERYWHERE The code is commented to say what each routine's purpose is.

HarryM,
That's what I ment. I know absolutely nothing about coding. The last programing class I took was in college some 13 years ago and it was Fortran77. I read in the BoB forum that the code/subroutines weren't commented well because it was rushed. And that this was making it even more difficult. Since MA wasn't rushed as much as BoB, I would figure that it is a little cleaner/easier to see what's going on.

Yay. Maybe someone can fix it so it doesn't DIE every time I try to do the campaign. I keep forgetting that it just craps out on me and I can't do a campaign at all... and end up uninstalling it.

Hey Argon, you think you could make that idiotic exclamation any longer? Thanks for making it utterly impossible to read. Osram, sorry if I gave the wrong idea... I am a CS student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, so I don't do this professionally. In fact, some of this code went right over my head . I enjoyed looking over it for amusement, but I doubt I could make any serious changes (although I can use 3d Studio Max, if that's helpful ). ------------------ - KMHPaladin- [email protected] - Number 105 "Dinger" VRAF Squadron- "Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checked by failures...than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they... know not victory nor defeat." - Theodore Roosevelt, 1899

I've been poking through this code tonight with my "intro" edition of C++ 6.0. I really enjoyed looking at the tactics tree for the AI. Don't know that I understood it that well, but it was much simpler than I anticipated (I mean that in a very complimentary fashion. I was expecting something unfathomably tangled.) I am a total novice, but it sure looks like the Yak-9 could be made flyable. It looks to me like it will be a bit tedious to modify this, but not mind numbingly complex. Would like to see some other period aircraft added as well if possible.
Lots of fun poking through the physics and structure models. Sure are a lot of files to deal with...
Hope someone takes the lead and starts a sight listing known issues (bugs)/desired improvements/additions.

Argon,
Could you do the rest of us a favor and edit the exclamation post so that it fits on a normal line length? Since it is all one word it seems to have extended the line to proportion which makes other posts a bit more challenging to read.
Thanks.

Thanks. Sure Red Harvest, no problem. With a gentlemanly request like that, any time. One bite-size YEHAW coming up.... [This message has been edited by Argon (edited 11-10-2001).]

I'm not a programmer but am looking forward to contributing any way I can. I'm open to suggestions, once someone has figured this thing out. AxA http://www.FlyAndFight.com [This message has been edited by AxA (edited 11-10-2001).]

Hi pilots...
This is an early christmas gift for us Mig Alley Fans and to that end we should lend a word of appreceation and gratitude to those that are responsible for the code release.
Thanks for making this wonderfull product and allowing the public to take it to hopefully new hights.
I have a some extensive programming that I took in collage and after look this over I think I can lend a hand if anyone here has the idea on how we can centralize this and get organised please let set this up.

One more hand, here. I had to convert the code, since it was produced on a different Visual Studio version. Let's see what we can get out of this. Chronus http://www.sim-news.com

chronus, Are you part of the BDG? If not, would you like to be? We are combining both the BDG (Battle of Britain Developers Group) with the MADG (MiG Alley Developers Group) in the same private forum. If you would like to join let me know. Originally posted by chronus: One more hand, here.

Aqualung,
Get involved! All the experienced coders that MA can get are needed! I feel completely helpless in this venture since I know nothing about coding. When I was in High School computer classes oh so long ago all we did were these funky "if, then, run, go" statements or something like that. I failed to see then how much computers would be a part of our lives then and I wish I had then.
