I'm not sure if anyone else is suffering the same problems / symptoms as me... my warthog has a habit of doing random things in game... when I start on the ground, everything is fine, the controls all respond and are doing there job... then all of a sudden It will become unresponsive to input.. I can usualy tell this as it will randomly change to A-A mode all on its own, and no movement of the controller is recognised until I press a button, usualy I have to move the trim to get this to work.. and it will fly all correctly then.
Occasionaly, I wont get this problem until I have taken off... if I have the master arm switched to live, then usualy what happens is it will fire my selected weapon, and shoot the cannon, and lose all axis controls until I press the trim button again...... which is a tad annoying when you have one sidewinder left and are trying not to get shot down by an enemy aircraft and it suddenly fires off your last missile, and randomly fires the gun and nose dives to the ground in one movement... when this happens at low altitude it can cause me to crash if I am not quick enough !

Is anyone else suffering this problem as well ? if so, are there any workarounds ? Is it a warthog issue, or a DCS A-10 issue we are looking at here ?

Yup, tried on different USB port.. same results as before... either briefly on runway at start of a mission, or a bit later in the air...

I would try going into controls in the sim and click on any button the stick and throttle is using then hit load profile itll open a file search go to the config file for each one is for stick and the other throttle double once(for each) and youre done,it goes sumthin like config/input/aircrafts/A10C
Even after doing that I still had to manually set the trim hat on the stick it defaults to views.

Skip, was yours 'disconnecting' mid game or pre-take off as well ? Starting to think Im the only one getting this problem !? lol

No mine has been rock solid but it sounds like youve got some weirdness I experienced because of other controllers set for the same function in the sim, make sure you scroll down and check and make sure everywhere(in the sim) the stick and throttle is used there are no other controllers set to do the same thing in the sim, if so delete the other controllers functions it and the warthog have in common for instance I have a G13 logitech gaming pad the sim recognises it and automatically assigns some functions to it same for the saitek rudder pedals I have. this caused some issues when I first got the warthog after deleting the redundent functions I would reinstall the warthog profile in the sim, hope this helps it helped me.I also had an issue where the throttle would mysteriously cut back(usually on the runway during takeoff)and make sure you assign axises to everything that has an axis in the sim and manually set it in the sim.It sounds stupid but the sim actually set the rudder pedals as the throttle ? and not the rudders.

As Skip said, clear the extra commands for the Axis. I do that everytime I patch because the sim thinks my rudder pedals should be pitch and roll. It is really easy to do, just highlight a column under your ex: 'rudder pedals' (any controller for that matter) and press Clear All. You will need to reassign the axis but that is easier when the extra stuff is cleared out. You may want to do the same for your HOTAS and reload the profile.

I shall try and do that, at the moment all I have connected are 2 x Cougar MFD's, my Cougar base (so I can plug my pedals in) and the Warthog... Though, I 'think'I may have cured it temporeraly... I changed my keyboard settings to US instead of UK, and it hasnt happened again (granted haven't had a chance to test properly!) but fingers crossed, though I shall do as suggested as it can't harm !

Seems I'm having some of your original issues - just hooked up the WH today and flying a simple landing mission - idle on the throttle and deploy speedbrakes and the gun fires and AA mode fires a heater. Seems my trim if trying to change the view as well vs trim - am flying with TrackIR so view does not change.

I have the TM Cougar base connected which passes my legacy RCS to the game - this works and all Cougar button assignments have been deleted by me.

After delete have reloaded the profile and still get this weirdness, so how did you change your keyboard - was this done in the A10 sim?

The keyboard language change didn't fix the issue, as I had it happen on two flights with my keyboard set to US... its done through Windows, but if you live in the US dare I say it will probably already be set to US language ?! I have set mine back to UK, and done as suggested by others, I had deleted all key settings and axis' assigned to the cougar, and just reset my rudder axis on it, double checking no other function at all was set to the cougar. I have so far had a few flights and it is behaving itself, it may take a weekend of flying for me to fully verify this though ! but I have flown for longer without misshap so far !

With the trim button, I had to unassgin the default view keys assigned to it, and replace it with the trim functions, I have had no problems with that so far, only that I need to press a trim key to get the warthog to behave when it does mess up !
