Just installed FS2004 and patched to 9.1 with Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS but no rudder pedals. I'm not running TM's TARGET software although I have tested all controls and buttons, etc wuth TARGET and all is ok. I Have realism set to coordinate rudder (or what ever it's called). Taxi and the stick steers ok. When I hit the throttle to take off, the plane veers to the side as if I had a high crosswind (BTW, wind & weather turned off) or the nose wheel was turned and the stick does nothing to correct. As I gain speed of course it lifts a wing while I'm trying to correct the steering.

Man, I know I need rudder pedals, but why is taking off so different than taxing!! BTW, does not matter what plane, C182, Extra 300s, 747, etc they all react the same way and at different airports. If it matters, I'm running WinXP-Pro 32bit. (BTW, all defaults for controls and key setting inside FS2004)

What am I missing or is this a bug? I could program a rudder and/or nose wheel steering inside of the TARGET software, but shouldn't I be able to use FS2004 without rudder pedals?

Could you check in the FS2004 setup if there's no rotary or slider assigned to work as rudder? That happened to me once - a rotary was "automatically" seen as the rudder; and as it was slightly off center I noticed a strong tendency to veer off course when applying take-off power.

Euh? That's what propellor planes do when you go full throttle? They want to go off to one side, you give them opposite rudder to keep them om track. It from the propwash hitting the tail.

Edit: Just read the 747 in there, calibrate etc. but on prop planes this is normal behaviour.
