I have a very strange problem! When I click the .jar file it opens my Nokia Ovi suit program! Theres no way I can disable the association inside the Ovi program! Even if I turn the Ovi off it starts up when I click the .jar! What can I do? Help please! Make sure you have the latest Java package installed http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jspThe reason your campaign opens with your Nokia Ovi app is down to file extension association. Normally though it's winrar that tries to steal the extension. Right click RoFCampaign.jar and select open with java if it's available to select. If not you'll have to browse to the java.exe, which you'll find in C:\program files\java\bin.

Hi, there My first post here! Prowd new POF ICE owner I've got the latest version (5.2), of this great tool, installed properly the global skins pack, but I can't find a way to assign custom schemes to my squadron... I can't make any other changes exept from the picture of the individual pilots of the squadron. Any ideas? S! PS It seems that the skinpack mod works for every other squadron involved in the generated missions...

Hi elephant
Have you tried other squadrons too? Not every squadron has a skin yet.

Thanks for the answer Brigstock. I partialy solved the problem by using a new default skin. From the ROF Campaign ReadMe: ..... Squadron: - Pilot pictures - Assign individual skins to your squadron mates. - Assign historically accurate skins at a squadron level. - Implemented historical accuracy. - Improved historical accuracy of aircraft assignments. .... The only thing I can select and change by clicking the individual pilots is the pilot picture only.

I missed that one, not noticed it before. ....and never tried to assign individual skins other than a quick and nasty edit of the mission file. For Squad skins, they follow the Neoqb naming standard. If you have the RoF skin packs and Ansiral's skin packs most Squadrons have a representation. If not you can check in the data files located in the RoF Campaign folder and look for the skin name for the squadron/jasta and import a skin. Can't remember the exact names of the squadron data files, but they are in there.

OK, Thanks a lot Brigstock! In the SquadronInfo file all the info including skins is stored. (RoFCampaign\Data\Input\). Also in the campaigns folder, (RoFCampaign\campaigns\"Pilot Name"), by editing the file with the same name as your pilot, you can assign skins to your Squadron mates as well. Thanks again Brigstock!

I don't know actually... It should be. The generic Jasta 6 skin I assigned by editing the SquadronInfo file, not there by default, showes up normally. Skinning in RoF is a bit more complicated than, lets say IL-2, and I haven't tried anything yet, to have enough individual skins to assign to my "squadmates".
I have another question: By clicking a pilot name either on Squadron or Top Aces you can't go back to the menu. Is this dead end normal? Sometimes can be frustrating...

It wont work. The .campaign file just runs the Squadron info in the gui. The only way I've found to add single skins for my flight is to edit the actual mission file. In fact Ace skins aren't working either
On the Aces screen and Squadronm Screen you can go back. Noy sure what is happening there for you.

Yes I can go back from there too. Clicking on an inividual pilot leads to a dead end.

At the bottom of the pilot page are navigation tabs. The default window for the pilot info pages are 800x1000 Are you seeing the below tabs

Oh,I see... Here is what I'm getting: I can't reach the clickable boxes as the stay always in the backround. I have the same problem with other RoF Campaign windows, for example In configuration screen I'm loosing some options at the bottom as well as in the Combat Report screen I can't see what I'm writing in the last two rows. Is there a way to resize or get these windows in the foreground?

It's my guess you are on a screen with a vertical res less than 1000. In which case I think you may be buggered. The pilot page default size is v800 x h1000, that being the case if you are on a less than 1000 screen the bottom of the page is clipped.

does not work for me the way it should, I guess. When I hit create mission, it looks for the file "owned aircraft" (or something) and misses it. It then creates a mission with an airplane I do not own and hence cannot start. Any suggestions ?
Michael.

Hi, it's me again. I want to edit the SquadronInfo file to add some custom skins, but the type designations used are a bit confusing (which plane coresponds to what number)... Example: .............. Planes { Plane { Id = 501004; ...............>Albatros D2? StartDate = 01/09/1916; EndDate = 01/10/1916; } Plane { Id = 501010; ................>Albatros D2 late? StartDate = 17/09/1916; EndDate = 20/11/1916; } Plane { Id = 501011; ...............>Albatros D3? StartDate = 17/11/1916; EndDate = 01/03/1917; } Plane { Id = 501012; StartDate = 01/02/1917; EndDate = 01/08/1917; } Plane { Id = 501014; StartDate = 30/06/1917; EndDate = 01/03/1918; } Plane { Id = 501005; StartDate = 12/12/1917; EndDate = 01/06/1918; ............ I know that 501 is for Germany but what about the other half?

The Plane data you are looking at just dictates what aircraft to use for certain dates, it wont effect what skin is displayed. Jasta 10 is 501010 will mean any mission file generated for Jasta 10 will have 501010.dds set as the skin regardless of plane type The Skin section above the plane section is the only edit you can make to change Squadron skins. Which can be changed based on date in a similar way the planes can be set. For example for Jasta 10 Skin { Name = "501010"; Date = 01/08/1915; } Skin { Name = "pd3a_501010_ans"; Date = 17/03/1918; } Skin { Name = "501010"; Date = 28/04/1918; } Skin { Name = "fd7f_501010_ans"; Date = 01/07/1918; } }
You could for instance add entries for the change from 3 Colour green/brown/light green wings (501010_early) to Purple/Green wings (501010_late) There is the possibility to have the same settings for Aces, but it is not implimented in the RoF campaign yet and based on the fact that Neoqb are not far from releasing their own campaign I have a feeling further development by Pat on his campaign will slow to a stop.

I've figured out how it works. And have already assigned some skins succesfully. I don't want to change anything in that section,I just don't know what is the plane to number correspondance so to assign a proper skin in the skins section.

That's it though, you can't assign a skin to a particular plane, only to the squadron. Pat has followed the Neoqb naming standard and all Squadrons in Pats campaign now follow that standard. Using my example from Jasta 10 above, from 01/08/15 onwards every skin Jasta 10 uses will be called "501010.dds", regardless of aircraft. until 17/03/18 where it will use "pd3a_501010_ans.dds". The mission builder will just add 501010.dds to the mission skin reference up until the skin change on 17/03/18. Skin = "albatrosd3\ 501010.dds"; The builder will reference what aircraft is relevant for the mission using the plane section and what skin to apply from the Skin section of the squadroninfo file based on date. As long as you have a skin named 501010.dds in all Aircraft skin folders for each of aircraft that are used, then the skin will display throughout the Squadron's campaign on any aircraft it uses. If you are after the aircraft designations then the file "AircraftInfo.RoFCampaign" in the data folder has that info. Also have you downloaded Ansirals skin pack for Pats Campaign. It has a lot of the skins for the various Squadrons and Jasta's used in the Campaign generator? Linky http://www.ansirial.it/skins/globalSkinpack.rar
