It's not that surprising that they are having some money issues.
For the most part I quit watching after Dale Sr died.

IMHO, Nascar got too big for its own good and too "corporatized". It's like they were forcing Nascar to be more mainstream and it backfired.

The outlwaw image is what made Nascar and I agree the corporations trying to tame that image hurt it a lot.

I'd probably pay a little more attention to NASCAR if they had more than two good races worth watching every year...Infineon and Watkins Glen.

NASCAR races are not the right length or format for today's world. They need to make them night races under the lights like the Shootout with 3-4 buildup races of 50 or 100 laps, and on more road courses like Road Atlanta of 100 laps, and truly make some of them endurance races that go for 8-12 hours so its an event that would draw more concession activity. Imagine an 8-hour Daytona race with the Sprint cars that uses the Rolex track. They need fewer races. When there is that many races in a season, it takes the special feel out of it. They also need to limit entries to one car per team.

I'd probably pay a little more attention to NASCAR if they had more than two good races worth watching every year...Infineon and Watkins Glen. Road America is added in 2011. That might get me to watch again - that race anyway. I love Road America from the Indycar days. Possibly my favourite track.

I lost interest years ago when it began to become so fake. A lot of fans began to look elsewhere for the racing fix. About the only ones left are just interested in the 'big one'.
I call it the WWF of motorsports.

They need fewer races. When there is that many races in a season, it takes the special feel out of it. They also need to limit entries to one car per team. I have no trouble with multi car teams (max 4) but they should only have 1 pit box to service the team cars. I would like to see some dirt track races included in the schedule like there was in the 'old days'. Too many races, yet in the 'old days' there was many more races than there is today. There is too many Cup drivers in the Nationwide Series. Restrict the number of Cup drivers allowed and they only run for prize money not for points.
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Dale Sr. passing on, + Jeff Gordon finally getting nabbed for cheating, i felt like i could finally let go of the sport, i had no reason to watch it, Cept for Maybe Tony's temper tantrums.

I started losing interest the day Dale Sr.died no doubt there.
However I continued watching and rooted for Kevin Harvick and Dale Jr.
Well Dale Jr. moving to my most hated drivers team was one more nail in the coffin.
I simply have not watched a race with any real interest for some time.
People who think they know everything are very annoying to those of us who do.

Same for me the day Dale Sr. died something died for me in Nascar.After all these years I still haven't picked another driver to pull for and lets faces it to stay interested in Nascar you need a driver.
As for Little E. I don't think his heart is in it.Maybe losing his dad like he did,I don't know.
I think the name plus the money and the push from other people are what make him even get in the car now.I truly think he would really be happier out on the water somewhere drinking a beer,fishing and hanging with some buddies.
I think his step mom got it half right when she said he had to make a choice either be a racer or a celebrity.I don't think he wants either one,he looks like he just wants to go home and forget about the whole thing.
As for the guy making the decisions now for Nascar,he needs to look at what people like,stupid stuff like changing Bristol,throwing the Labor Day tradition away,too many 1 and a 1/2 mile tracks.Just to look at what they have done it almost looks as if they have tried to kill it off down here in the South.
I used to make 2 or 3 races a year at least,don't even cross my mind now.I set here at my computer on Sunday evening now gaming online with some friends,with the race on tv,glance over once in a while to see whats happening and keep on gaming.
Lost interest and just can't get it back.I hate that but it's just the way it is.
