Here are some:
- Working fuel selector switch - Working magneto switch - non-clearable gun jams (though I'd probably hate this :)) - more random units (ground and air) in generated missions. - Enemies should not just spawn at mission objective waypoints - Some random flights should spawn at mission start and have an agenda, not just spawn when you come across their spawn point. With this, it would be possible to come unto unsuspecting enemy patrols, or encounter recon flights already damaged by other AI planes. - Aerodrome ground activity - Squadron resource management - Squadron roster with stats and names - First load the hangar screen with mission objective, skins etc. faster, and only then, when going to fly, start the long process of loading the whole sim, landscape etc. - More variety in flight sizes. Right now it's mostly your flight of 5 against an enemy flight of 2. - Quick mission builder
Cheers Dobby

Another one: - Reduce the wolfpack mentality of the AI. Right now, when going after an enemy plane, the biggest danger are other 4 planes that also try to go after the same target.
Cheers Dobby

Reduce the wolfpack mentality of the AI
Hear hear! Definitely ! I got the "Eye of Sauron" last night in a career mission almost immediately upon engaging enemy at the objective and I'm 99% sure it was one of my squadmates shooting me in the back.

Good idea. You are far further into this sim then me at this stage, but couple of comments:
Quick mission builder is very important.
Aren't
- Working fuel selector switch - Working magneto switch bugs?

GREAT ideas Dobby! The simple enemy spwaning at random like RB3D would increase the already good immersion factor. Also, I have had issues with the Wolfpack problem. I died from mid air collision with my own guys (yes this happened in real life but we could tone it down a tad)
Still having a ball though!

It is already possible to make missions with random encounters in them. We just need to wait until enough people master the Mission Editor and they will come. The pain is the waiting time, but the payoff will be more immersive missions than IL-2 for example.

During the 4 v 1 encounters I've found the best chance of survival is to either climb above the dogfight and stay there or play wingman to one of the friendlies. At least that way you've only got a chance of hitting 2 rather than 3 friendlies
Rabbits, break right and climb.

Ambiance: 1.church bells 2.sirens 3.ambulances Deadly ambiance: ground machine gunners(haven't encountered any yet)to protect balloons at least, if not all over the front.
And in the career mode I'm not sure i understand how intelligence knows the exact location of enemy recon planes. I like red baron when i would stumble on them accidentally. or use AA fire to be a clue.

A couple of easy ones...
Archie over enemy territory, not just the front lines. Heaps of Archie around enemy balloons (especially flaming onions!).

How about an external padlock view?

How about an external padlock view? There is an external padlock view, F8. Padlock works both if in cockpit F1 or external view F2. Or do you mean as one key? The software of many joysticks can do macros,ie, combine two assignments into one button press.

Thanks for the quick response, intramile. I know that it's possible to create an external padlock view by switching from cockpit to external view, then pushing the padlock view. Like you say, I was just hoping for a one-key solution, so that when I jumped to the external view I would retain the padlock from the cockpit view. I can see how a macro would approximate that, though.

Excellent suggestions!
I'd also add:
A bit of variety on the load screens. The angry chickens are cool, but would be nice if we had a couple of different load screens 'slide showing' whilst awaiting the load.
Joystick sensativity controls in game.
Some sort of visual cue to indicate which planes you cannot use for single missions in the single mission selection screen.
Oh, and perhaps you could ask some of us native english speakers to help out with some of the text in the mission screens? Some of the syntax is a bit... broken.
My thoughts at the moment anyway.
