Would even be nicer if there was a caption saying when and where the pics were taken, of what units the planes are etc.
Not all are as easy as the I./JG 27 Emil on the shooting range.

They have a metal bare stuck through that tube in the rear of the fusalauge. I'm pretty sure thats what that tube was there for. Holding the rear up.

I wonder if those guys had hearing protection? No such thing as occupational safety in those days. No wonder that so many elderly gentlemen we meet are deaf. Not that subsequent generations will be any better; rock music saw to that!

Wow, there are some real gems in there... Thanks for the link. It would be nice to have some captions explaining what's going on (who, what, where, when) but still nice to have all those photos collected and available online. One that struck me was this photo of several Fw-190 D's wearing Russian stars and being warmed up for flight. I remember reading that the Russians had captured many Dora's and put them to use against their previous owners. And right there is a photo backing that up.

Having captions would have been great. I thought I�d looked at all the photos pretty closely, but must have missed the Russian Doras!
Speaking of captions, I sure would like to know what gun convergence they were looking to achieve in the photo I posted above and how far away the target they're using was. If you look closely, you can see the tracers converging just beyond the target. That mean they need adjustment, or is that how they want them? We may never know.
