Has there been any news about the next version yet? I haven't really been keeping up and woulda thought we'd have seen something about fs2006 by now, i would think it'd be out this fall wouldn't it?

Just that there will be one. And that it seems that it'll be out for 2007 season, as FS9 is working quite well for most people. I suspect that it's taking them a lot of effort and hard work to make something clearly better than FS2004.

Expect a new version to ship around mid-2006.

Any idea what new features the new Flight Sim will include? I would love to see some of the following:

Military AI
AI Formation Flying
Option to request intitial/overhead/break
More Airline/Military Callsigns
More options for AI
Training ranges fo AI and Sim Pilots

Most military aircraft both fixed wing and rotary, rely upon NVG's or other night vision aids, so a night vision capabilty would be high on my FS2006 list too.
I can't see why it should by such an issue even some old DOS sims had night vision, plus the civil world is also waking up to night vision systems in their drive for safety.
