its prolly the same license but with a revision for upgraded pcs and stuff,
after so many transfers/activations you'd prolly have to call and verify your copy is genuine via phone and aquire a new key

Yes, but now you can transfer it as often as you like so long as you remove it from the previous PC, Just like retail XP. That's all I wanted.

Oh yea, just want to say something else about this. This proves that those of you, you know who you are, that said Microsoft doesn't care what us enthusiasts think and are irrelevant were talking BS.

I still don't believe that the original EULA amounted to a restriction. To me this is just a clarification, not a backpedal, as was mentioned. All and all good news. I honestly didn't think they'd care about how much hardware we swapped out, as long as the license was on one and only one box.

Yes, it did. The restriction was clearly typed in black and white. Them saying afterwards it is up to their discretion was not acceptable either. Now it is acceptable.

Well, that was quick. I imagined it would take a lot more complaining for a longer time  The users voices were heard. And, it clearly is a backtrack -- though anything can be rationalized, I suppose.

It wasn't black and white for a lot of people, thus the confusion. Besides they had clarified that bit once, I believe I posted a link on that in another thread. You'd need to reactivate it at that point, big whoop, couple of mouse clicks. Now this new clarification is one step better. I still believe there never was an intent by them to hurt the modding/tuner community. We're their roots, you don't kill the goose that helped lay your golden egg, well unless you're EA. As others have mentioned, most folks are going to wait until this one matures, has wider driver support and it's features and backward compatability issues are all laid bare. That's my plan. XP Pro/Home will do me fine for a few more years.
