I meant a second language, other than French, where as the Flemish, most of them speak at least one other language, be it French, German or English.
Take my youngest son, he is skilled with his hands, and he had to go to a school for those with a learning difficulty, he speaks Dutch and is fluent in English too, his older sister is fluent in Dutch, French, German and English, the other 3 kids have Dutch, English and French. Most people I know here can get along in English to a greater or lesser degree.
My mate, Jos, has very little English, but can speak German fluently, It is great fun trying to hold a conversation with him, my bad Dutch and his poor English, we get on great
