So while in Evo I was able to smash my controller time with the wheel, in Raceroom it took *countless* laps just to beat my time by 1 second.

No problem! I hope you guys and gals will join soon, it's the best feeling sim of all I've tried.

Also, I just joined the server where I see all the fast time, and I realised they have the track grip set to optimum, whereas I've been lapping on a green track. I set a 6:10 on their server so I'm just I could go even faster offline, with an optimum gripped track this time.

Reviews are so mixed I don't know what to think. Much of the negativity revolves around broken promises, not the driving , necessarily, but that gets some comments too. I have AC and ACC and have driven both extensively, and I like those sims fine. But I'd have to say I'm not so crazy about the driving physics in both of them. I adjust quickly, and it's not that I think it's bad, it's not, but feels odd in some way. Could be my settings, or whatever. I did some laps a few days ago in ACC at the Nordschleife and it just felt foreign in a way, very different from what other sims feel like. How all this translates to Evo I have no idea. I'll need to try it to know. I'm not convinced, yet, but it's worth a shot at some point for sure. I feel like I'm closer to picking up AC Rally than Evo at the mo.

Do you drive from roof cam?

I didn't reply to this, and thanks for the info. What I was asking about was the base model (I run Simucube 2 Pro), but wasn't clear about that at all. The rim's a nice one. Good rally wheel, that. And a proper rim for drifting, for those crazy people.

Personally I think it feels the best from what I've tried recently, which are ACC, AMS2 & RRRE. My friend and I just started doing laps with each other on our own private server, it's just so fun chasing and being chased, especially with the time set to 48x so we drive through the night and into the sunrise, it looks incredible. You could always "demo" it before deciding on it, or perhaps take advantage of the 2 hour refund window.


Sorry, he definitely told me, but I definitely forgot but I just looked at some photos he's sent me, and I can make out Simucube 2 Pro on the back of it.

I'm personally thinking of getting the Moza R5 for myself, would be a big upgrade from the G25, but only if I'm still driving in 6-12 months.

Oh and I use bonnet/hood cam, my friend uses cockpit cam.

It might be that, I can believe it and the odds it will end up in my stable is firmly north of 90%.

Are native leaderboards planned?

Someone here has AC Rally and that also looks very good.

LMU is another that several of us here drive, but that one probably has the most love it - hate it split for driving physics around.

I don't know what their plans are. I just run nords 99% of the time because it's an amazing rendition of the track.

I hit a 6:07 and then it took me 2 more hours to hit a 6:06.963, but I wasn't happy with it. If I could just put in a "perfect" lap from my standard, it could be a 6:05, but I have to stop chasing it lol.

Evo does have official races, but it runs through the browser.

After spending a couple of weeks taming the F40 and putting in a 6:12, I went back to the Rennsport and casually put in a 6:05

I did end up buying Assetto Corsa Evo today, to take advantage of the last day of the Steam sale. Not sure how put together it is as a game, but I saw they had update of 0.8, which I assume is heading for full release of 1.0 soon.

I'll put a time on there with that car and track, but it will be nowhere near 6 minutes, lol. The ring is a track that I don't have a lot of laps on, and don't have a firm grasp of, but that is one of the reasons I picked this game up. I have heard multiple people on youtube mention it's the most accurate version. I also picked up the AMS2 updated version recently.

I put some laps in over the weekend, and ended up in the wall a lot of the time, lol. I am starting to get a feel for some of the corners at this point, but still struggle with some corners later in the lap. I was running the Rennsport Porsche, but was way off of your lap time. I didn't notice that you mentioned the unrestricted Porsche, and that was after I was running my laps, so I'll have to give it another attempt next weekend. This was one of the laps I put in with the restricted car, I sill have a lot of corners to learn to drop down my times. I'm not sure if this was my best time, but they were right around there. I'll see how much faster the unrestricted car is, hopefully a lot, I'm 50 seconds down on your time, good lap.

The Unrestricted is about 5 seconds faster
