Yes, and nice work at Imola Kenny. You're nearly the fastest in America!
The Formula 2 @ Nurbs GP lap of mine isn't all that rapid, compared to the field. But I drove my socks off to post it. I really got stuck in for that one.

I checked the board and of course noticed that straight away, and I'm sat there thinking you've got AI driving for you and you plugged in to it "go faster than DBond" and so the AI worked out how to do that by the smallest of margins.
I had remarked about how tight it was at Imola, and then this.
Having seen that state of affairs I did hop back in and target an improvement of two thousandths to put me back in front, but went over by a hair. I swapped to the red one
Nice effort at Spa too Kenny

You found me out, that AI was spot on this time. Good job, I figured you could push that time ahead more. Spa just wasn't clicking for me today, and I'm all for if I'm not feeling it, coming back another day, but thank you.
I sharpened up my laps at Nordschleife, Spa, Monza, and the Glen. Added a lap in Touring Classics at Bathurst, and that is not an easy combination. I've only avoided Norising which is one of the worst tracks in the world, in my view of course.
There's not much activity here, so not expecting anyone to have a go, but the ghosts are posted if anyone's keen.
I see Kenny snuck past at Hockenheim. Nice work

That's not failing, if it's your best effort. More laps will net gains I'm sure. But yeah, I don't like that track. Isn't it essentially an oval with hairpins at each end and chicanes in the middle of each straight? Like Avus? Yeah it's not for me.
I found you, P273, which is top 20%, and that's good. No failing here
Try the Formula Junior at Monza Junior if you're keen for another one. Challenge my ghost and chase me (and overtake me!)

Since Loop had put up a lap at Norising I decided to do so too. It is the track I was describing, but no chicane on the front straight. I struggled, especially with exit oversteer. Many laps were ruined by spinning when I tried to put the power down. And of course they made it a fixed setup event so no voodoo that I can do. Easily the least fun event this round, but then I knew it would be. But I've never been one to only pick my favorites, that for me the beauty of these competitions is taking a random car and track combination, and turning fast laps despite the inherent difficulties. I found this event particularly difficult, but stuck with it. Started with the Audi, because I have good luck with it in all the other DTM 2020 events, but kept snapping. Swapped to the BMW and I can't say it was any better really, but ended up cracking the top 50, after many laps.

I just nipped you at Hockenheim, it took me a while to get that lap correct. I found that car had really bad understeer during acceleration, and I ended up removing all of the TC just to try and get some better rotation. I ran some more laps at Monza with the trainer, but I couldn't catch up to your lap on there, good lap. I actually couldn't even match my previous lap, and moved on. I didn't get much racing in this past weekend, busy, and lost internet for a lot of yesterday during some storms.
Yeah, that's a good lap, nicely done. I'll give it another go. The first turn kills me. Can't seem to get it right. And the last two turns, no way I'm taking those well, stabbing on the throttle like I do. You're right about the handling. I remarked after an event in this car that it feels like a FWD car. And that's the opposite of how a 911 should feel.
With the Norising lap I have hit them all, despite saying I wasn't all that enamored with this round of competitions.

Yes, maybe so. Personally I don't give much thought to the physics in these sims. They're probably all wrong anyway haha, or only one could be right, making all the others sad attempts, since I think the feel of each sim is so dissimilar. Of course, personal settings play a big role. There's also the matter of the significant swings even within one sim, constant tyre model 'improvements', and other changes that either prove the devs really don't know what the target is, or had missed it badly before, if they do know the target. No, all I look at is if it feels convincing enough, because how would I know what a McLaren 570 feels like at the edge of adhesion? These developers should develop what they think is the right feel, for the car physics, the feel of the road, and be done with it. So much effort is expended with this, and usually I can't even tell the difference.
In those two specific examples, the DTMs are indeed spinny, or they are for me. It's a combination of car type/power, fixed setup, the nature of those exits and no TC. If I could adjust the suspension or drive train I could dial it out, or make it better suited for me at least. Norising is essentially those two bumpy hairpins on to long straights and it takes a feathery touch that I was struggling to produce. Are the physics wrong? Or is it more like a confluence of things, not least of which is my heavy right foot, that all add up to snaps out of nowhere?
I think the problem with the Porsche is it is a cup car. Cup cars are not much more than showroom cars, with a roll cage and better brakes. The other 911s don't feel like this one does, for me anyway. So not sure it's the physics or rather a barely race-ready version of the car. Even so, it might still feel a bit more rear-engined I should think, but I couldn't know and maybe if I tried to drive it fast I'd see this is actually how it is. It feels FWD because those cars don't like accelerating and turning at the same time, and like Kenny said, that's an issue with this cup 911. Understeers when you stand on it, when a 911 usually wants to come around because the heavy bits are at the back.
No matter which of these sims has got it most right, I find something to like in all of them. I drive RR most because I think it has the best leaderboards.

I had the same problems with turn 1. I found out hitting the apex curb at just the right amount, bounces the car, but it carried more speed than if I just took the corner clipping the small curb in front of it. I'm with you on how this Porsche feels, I usually race their GT3 cars when it's the option, and it just seemed weird to have the car push so much. The only thing I have raced in real life is go-kart's, so I have no idea what is more realistic or not.
That left hand kerb on Hockenheim turn 1 seems to grab me and pull me over the limits and it's like it is saying, oh no you don't! Maddening how many times I fouled that up. Good lap Kenny not sure I can match it, but I'll probably try

Hey gang, how's things? I hope today finds everyone well. Summer's just about over so time to think about doing indoors activities and leaderboards are just the thing!
I hit three RR comps this round.
MX5 at Bilster Berg, a track I adore. It dips and doos and has crests and blind corners, and yeah, that's the stuff.
F4 at Suzuka. When I saw this I rolled my eyes, because the F4 isn't enough car for the Grand Prix circuit, in my view. But it is Suzuka, so I run it. Top track. I hit the track and immediately go straight off. What's this then? Turns out it is the West Course, a configuration I've not driven before. It cuts out the best part of the track -- the esses -- but does shorten it up and it suits the F4 better I think
Last night I took up a challenge. I saw the X-22 at Monza, a nod to the most recent Formula 1 race, and so I decided to give it a go. This is one of the most difficult cars in RR to drive I think, or at least drive well. I've struggled with it a lot since it was introduced. Got stuck in and kept at it and ran a 24.1 to make the top ten for the moment.
Posted laps in the following combinations in RaceRoom
-- DTM 2026 @ Adria. Difficult circuit. Lots of slow speed corners. Overdriving is a problem. Understeer, Locking brakes. Ran three cars, the Lamborghini, Porsche and set my best lap in the Merc.
-- Tatuus F4 @ Suzuka West. Had posted a lap at the start, then looked again and saw I was getting smoked, so returned and shaved seven tenths. Still, well off the pace.
-- Mazda MX5 @ Bilster Berg. Great track, fun to drive.
-- X-22 @ Monza. Difficult car to drive fast. Managed a decent lap in the end. Still in the top 20
