Tough loss for the Jays. Jumping out to a big lead then coughing it up. They have enough to win this, still all to play for. But losses like that sting.

A bull-pen game...and the Jay's advance to the ALCS. I was surprised that a good chunk of the crowd had left by the end of the 8th.

Congrats Leaf. The Jays played well and deserve to advance.Not sure who they will face as both the Tigers and the Mariners have looked the better team in their series and it comes down to a game 5. Whoever the Jays draw I like their chances playing the way they are.

The Phils got it done last night as the top of the order woke up. The 455-foot Schwarbomb was electric and I think it gave the Phillies belief and energized them. Don't know if I've seen a ball hit out of the Ravine before. That was a shot. They still need to win both games which is a tall order against a really good Dodgers team but you never know.

I was surprised to find myself feeling sympathy for Kershaw, That was hard to watch.

Ah, makes sense! I'd have been itching to leave, especially if I had an early shift next day.

Yeah I was impressed on how the Jays bounced back after their loss the evening before, but that's how they've been most of the season-- I think it's been the infectious enthusiasm, and the work ethic, of the 'kids' this year, and the new guys who came in over the summer have fit into the clubhouse really well. These guys are genuinely having a lot of fun playing hard for each other.

I'm glad the Philly bats woke up. Kyle Schwarber...wow, doing it all year long. That was a moonshot that came at the right time. The Dodgers looked bewildered. And sticking Kershaw in the bullpen...oh man. I dunno, I'm beginning to hesitate second guessing John Schneider's decisions in T.O (Bullpen Game...really? It's do or die man...) and so Dave Roberts decisions are getting even less scrutiny from me lol. It must be the deep reliance on analytics- it's still the roll of a die in a lot of cases, and even if there was a 95% chance of X occurring, flub the die roll (Oh look, I rolled a ONE gahhhhhh) and Y occurs instead. Good luck Phills!

Phillies...I don't have the words...

Well they didn't deserve to win, and frankly the Dodgers didn't either. But they didn't suck as much as the Phillies so they keep playing.

The Phillies bats wasted great pitching. they failed to capitalize when they had runners in scoring position. They deserve to go home.

My WS prediction is Dodgers vs Blue Jays.

Well, if the Jays make it to WS and if they play the Dodgers I'd be hard pressed to think the Jays might win even a couple of games- mind you, they only faced the Dodgers in a short 3 game series (c. August, in LA...iirc) and managed to win one game. If they learned anything from that series, and saw how the Phillies kept Ohtani in a bag in their series...maybe? lol...gotta get there first.

Well done Mariners. So it’s Seattle vs Toronto for the AL title.

Yeah and that means the Jay's have homefield advantage through the entire series (so many of us here in Western Canuckland venture down to Seattle to cheer on the Jays, or just take in a game or three over a weekend). At least the Mariners haven't restricted ticket sales to us like NY did.

Jays/Mariners and Dodgers/Brewers...who advances and why?

At the moment I have to go with M's and Dodgers, and mostly because the Mariners have already won one

That was a good win for Seattle. I'm thinking the days off the Jays had after taking the ALDS didn't help much- the Mariners riding a high, had momentum. Miller pitched really well on what was, I think, only three days rest, and kept the Jay's bats quiet (except for Springers HR in the first). I also think the Jays braintrust may have had to scramble when they realized at the last minute Bichette's no where near ready to come back and play. I'm thinking the injury he suffered back in September was worse than they let on. That situation has made it harder, but they showed they can still win- if Bichette had been healthy the Jays would have had the top hitter in the AL backing Vladdy and that might have been the difference last night. Ah well, shoulda coulda woulda. The Kid starts todays game so should be fun to watch. Jays need to grind one out and go into Seattle tied, otherwise I can't see them coming back down two.

Brewers have been pretty solid this season and can take the NLCS if they stay that way. I watched a lot of Dodgers baseball this season and they're susceptible to being super derpy, especially defensively. If Freeman and Betts' bats go quiet, I don't think even Ohtani can save 'em from the Brew Crew.

Overall I'm thinking Brewers v. Mariners in the finals, Brewers winning it all.

Worst umpiring in a playoff game I can recall...both teams suffered for it. ABS can't arrive soon enough. Kid got roughed up early then settled down. Schneider has a hook that's too quick in my opinion (but I ain't a manager in real life so what do I know?). Bull pen giving it up like they did at times in the regular season, and the offence just isn't there. Mariners in 4. Jay's halfway to the beach house in Florida.

The Mariners are far exceeding my expectations so far. Wow.

Crazy thing is a bunch of the Mariner coaching staff are guys I used to watch here in the late 80's/early 90's when Seattle's AAA affiliate was the Calgary Cannons...Jay Buhner, Edgar Martinez to name a couple, who all 'made it' to the Majors and had solid careers. Blue Jay's got it all to do. Go big or go home.

Losing the first two at home is nightmare fuel, and it's exactly what the Phils did against the Dodgers. Hard to come back from that, but hey, if they won two in your house, you go and win two in their house. Still all to play for, but the Blue Jays will need to find the swings they had against New York. They've gone cold suddenly and need to start swinging the bats better.

If the WS ends up being LA vs Seattle I will definitely root for Seattle. They need to get their first WS title!
