Hi all just a few tips that may help new flyers or even veterans.

1st is resizing the Tactical display if any flyers use it. The original size can be too large for some users but you can resize it down to you're taste..

do this by going into C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\Roaming\OBD_Games\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields and finding the ViewUI.xml file (Backup 1st).

Right click and open with Notepad, Sroll down near the bottom until you find

And change the BGscale= from 0.30 to 0.25 or even 0.20 if you like on BOTH lines,it'll make your Tac display smaller Save and exit. make sure filetype is set to *.* first in notepad, then save as ViewUi.xml otherwise it will save it with .txt on the end which won't work

When on the main flight screen Shift+T Turns TAC On/Off It (Can be dragged if required to anywhere on the screen if required with the mouse button) pressing T will toggle between aircraft,structures, airfields ect
Shift+D toggles messages on screen and CTRL+D will give you more advice ie (when to turn on engines ect)


2nd tip..Also did you know you can train with Captain Triggers (Easter egg from the excellent WW1 series WINGS) before going to the front or home defence etc ? The 1st few missions you'll be observing whilst Triggers flies the kite, after that you'll be flying alongside him before you're solo runs .

1st on the campaign deployment screen click on Direct deployment and choose Pilot training then deployment..pick your year and /or craft if you like and click on start career enlistment ..you'll be then able to cycle through squadrons/jastas etc to choose which one you would like, Hope this info can help .. Nice post Ade. Good to see you are still about and are flying OTT. I am going to train with CT in OTT once again and see where my career goes. Last time in PE I had a good training only to begin my career in the Parasol, almost complete the 1st mission only to be absolutely slaughtered by 2 EIIIs. Shortest career ever for me. LOL, gotta love WOFF, never a dull moment. Take care Sir, onward and upward!

Ahh cheers Drew,yep purchased a few days ago so haven't really got started yet. MSFS 2020 flying the A2A Piper has taken far too much of my sim flying The work the OBD lads continue to make is nothing short of exceptional.
