The damage number is partly due to the effects and receiver (powerful automatic), and partly due to the perks. Obviously, the Aristocrat's is doing some heavy lifting, by increasing base damage by 50%. But having 8 points in Commando plus 3 points in Bloody Mess are doing some of the work as well (+ 70% between them). No I don't have it for sale, I have it slung over my shoulder! If you don't have the Handmade plan yet I can make you one for level 45 and you can roll your own effects on it if you want. I have another Handmade that does the same damage. That one is Instigating or Assassin's Explosive, and the explosive effect is further enhanced by Demolitions Expert. The problem with that rifle is the explosions obscure the target which affects my longer range shooting. So I don't use it much. You could have that one if it interests you.

Well, I don`t say no to any offers at this stage. And I have some credits as well to buy for. Somehow I feel bad for recieving free stuff, but players are very generous in this game. I hope I can give something back one day. Right now I am trying to reach level 50. Then the plan is a Fixer and do the run for a Excavator armor.

No don't mention it. I have plenty of caps and actually I'm usually looking for ways to burn them so I don't get stuck on the caps cap. No compensation is necessary, I'm more than happy to pay it forward and help you out if you want it. Anything at all you need just post it up and I'll give it to you if I can.
I do have about ten Handmades for sale in the vendor currently, all level 45 and priced between 500 and 700 caps, but it should be noted that I have rejected all of those. But others may find them suitable. Look 'em over next time we're both on. I have a lot of plans too, all priced at default. I sold quite a few plans yesterday, so not sure what's left, but there's at least 100 still in my vendor.

I am not in game right now, but is it possible for me to change my Fixer to automatic?
I have to admit I am not familiar with the different parts in building rifles. Yet.

Yes, of course. You need to change the receiver to an automatic one. There are several of them, each with their own stats, but powerful automatic is the one that yields the highest damage. Keep scrapping combat rifles until you learn these if you don't have their plans yet.

I was reluctant to try and change it in case I ruined it. I`ll change it afterwards. Why is it called a reciever?

Good question. I would guess it is because it is the component that 'receives' the round from the magazine? Probably a term rooted in antiquity, or whenever they started making firearms I use powerful auto on all of my automatic weapons, including the Fixer. Tweaked I think is the one to use if you are crit-based build. I just want to do max damage and I don't use crits very often. My other Handmades do 88 card-displayed damage, and so does the Fixer. Aristocrat's is a nice bump, but you need to have the caps on hand to make it scale to the top.

I went in and changed it to aurtomatic.. Damage 47.
I had only 4 alternativs available. Automatic, Hair Trigger, standard or true. Powerful auto was greyed out, but I have the parts to craft it. Is that because I haven`` t scrapped one or do I need a plan for it?
The powerful auto would have given me damage 57.

I bet it is greyed out because you don't have Gunsmith 3, which is needed for this modification I think.
I don't think it would appear in your list if you had not learned the plan, so I think you need to rank up Gunsmith to 3

Ok. Something to check out later today.
I feel the level 50 goal is pretty important now.
I expect some doors to open then.

Yeah, maybe so, but I think level 50 is key because that's when gear stops leveling and now you can focus on what you want to carry or wear without worrying it will soon be outleveled.
The biggest door that will open in my view is you will get your first legendary perk. Big decision!

Since your legendary perk decision is just over the horizon I thought I'd make a post about. And to make it easier to find later. Legendary PerksAt levels 50, 75, 100, 150, 200 and 300 the player can choose a legendary perk. These are quite strong, and take up no perk card slots in your build. Which one you choose is up to you, but I took Master Infiltrator first and this is why. Each legendary perk has four ranks, each rank increasing whatever effect or ability the perk grants. In order to rank up your legendary perks, you need to spend Perk Coins. Your total perk coins on hand is displayed in the lower right of the screen where you can see your perks. To get more coins you can get them off the scoreboard (rare) or scrap existing perk cards (F key), with each scrapped card worth two perk coins. But it is brutally expensive to rank these up. When you select a legendary perk you get the first level for free. But to hit rank 2, you need to spend 50 perk coins. Not bad. Rank 3 is another 100 perk coins. Pretty expensive (that's 50 scrapped perks!). Rank 4 is 150 perk coins. So that is 300 perk coins total needed to max out this legendary perk. Or the equivalent of 150 scrapped perks. Considering you only get one perk per level, this is brutal, like I said. So I took Master Infiltrator since it is the only Legendary perk that I don't care if I rank up. Rank 1 of Master Infiltrator does what I want it to, and that is to make obsolete all of the lockpick and hacking cards I had been carrying (and which can now be scrapped for more perk coins!). That essentially gave me another 25 levels, to level 75 and the next legendary perk, to amass more coins to spend on the second legendary perk. Shrewd business Master Infiltrator is a great quality of life perk, but there are many, and you'll have to decide on which one to choose first. You can view them any time within the game (click the header on your build page), but here they are for reference Legendary Perk Wiki That shows each one along with the bonuses or effects granted at each rank. I'm now level 148 and will get my fourth legendary perk at 150. I have taken Infiltrator, Follow Through and Legendary Strength so far. The ones that grant additional SPECIAL points are quite powerful indeed as it means you can now run more or higher ranked cards in your build (but cannot exceed 15 points in any SPECIAL category). But remember it will take alot of investment to reach the highest rank on all of these. A little math.... 150 scrapped cards = 1 maxed perk 900 scrapped cards to max out every legendary perk = much pain My choice at 150 will be Legendary Luck. But I don't look at it as a way to take more Luck perks necessarily, actually I am thinking of more strength cards. But the additional Luck points means I can shift some SPECIALS from that category and put more in Strength. Even though these are called Luck, Strength, Agility, etc, I look at it as just buying more SPECIAL points, but now certain categories will have a floor equal to the rank of the legendary perk you've taken. ie with a rank 4 Legendary Strength perk I will always have minimum 5 Strength even if I spend zero points there. So to sum up.... legendary perks are awesome, but very expensive, and you'll want to think it all through and make good decisions, while ensuring you are preparing for each and amassing perk coins to level them up as quickly as you can.

I hope it makes sense. Legendary perks are so strong, and there are so many to choose from that it is a big decision. There are ones that are particularly good for power armor users too. I am ignoring those, since I rarely wear it, but certainly they are worth a look if you wear it a lot. Electric Absorption is the one I think most take, as getting hit recharges your fusion core.
What Rads is very popular, but I am ignoring that one too as radiation just isn't a big enough deal to blow a legendary perk on. I did take Infiltrator and Follow Through, but the rest I take will all be the ones that increase your SPECIAL points I think. Just being able to run more perks is really strong so I'll go that route.
A few days ago I posted the stats on my armor and said it was WITH Bodyguards and three teammates, but I actually had had Lone Wanderer on, not Bodyguards, and the numbers are higher when running Bodyguards. I swap those two perks depending on if I am on a team or not.
The new rifle is noticeably better than the old one. I'll keep rolling looking for anti-armor but this one will do in the mean time. I think I'll hop on in a bit and try to hit level 150.
If there's anything you need just post it up so I know in case I see you Wigean. If you want that T-45 helmet let me know or I'll get rid of it. It weighs 11 in the stash!

Thanks DBond. Don`t hold your stash if you need more room. :-) I could need the helmet of course. The one I have now is level 20 I think. I just got to level 45 now. I have done "the Deep" quest and talked to Jens mother. I have a 51b helmet in my stash. I can do 5 more levels with my current helmet if I have to. The cost would probably mean more Stimpacks, or a lot. The alternative is that I could look for you later this evening.? I`ll let you now if I see you.

Make sure to take full advantage of the Halloween event that started yesterday. Those Halloween loot bags you get from killing "spooky scorched" will often have new items and new plans.

Sorry Wigean, I was on a couple times yesterday, but didn't see you.
The Spooky Treat bags are from Spooky Scorched as Panzer said, and I found them in Scorched Earth. Got a bunch of the bags and the candy, set up a candy bowl at the camp and filled it with candy!
The treat bags can yield a costume, which you need to trick or treat at the camp candy bowls I think. I got pirate and witch costumes from the treat bags. I think the whole concept of trick or treating in Fallout is cute.
I finally hit level 150! I took Legendary perception as my fourth legendary perk, and ranked it up once. I then redistributed those two points to strength and charisma. I run the Bodyguards or Lone Wanderer perk there depending on whether I am in a team or not, but both of these cards go to 4, so another point here lets me max them both out for a bit of a boost.

Wherever you normally find scorched there's a chance you'll find the spooky ones so areas like Morgantown airport, the ski lodge, Camden Park and the carnival/fair in the northern part of the map are good places to search.
