I have thousands of atoms and nothing I ever want to buy. This is 500 in the atomic shop it seems. Gotta pick this up. You're a Fallout1st member so I think you get something like 1,500 atoms per month? I rarely ever have over 1,000 atoms at any time.

Yeah, it's 1650 per month, but so far I think it's only ticked over once. I joined July 25th, so I'll have another infusion Sept 25th. I had over 6000 atoms and bought the ammo converter. Built it. It cost 3000 5mm to make 200 5.56. Not very efficient, this thing! I burnt through all of that in two minutes in Moonshine Jamboree. Can be useful if you pick up lots of ammo, but this won't replace crafting.

Yes, you did, thanks very much. I wish the thing was a little more efficient though. Does the exchange rate change depending on what you are converting? In other words, do shotgun shells or .308 rounds pay off better than 5mm for example?

I`m not sure.
I was too busy to test and eager to finish my current quest.
The converter was a positive for me as I really was in need for an efficient weapon. (Vampire handmade)
It might be more valuable on the level I`m at as credits and useful ammo is sparse.
Sounds like you guys have more choices with regards to weapons, credits and chalenges.
The events that is popping up are often recommended for 50+ levels, and I am only just over halfway there.
So my current choice of weapons are shotgun and rifle.
Hope something more useful will be available, plus a better armor.

Just jump in to events and ignore the suggested level is my suggestion. There is no penalty for getting killed, you just respawn and have at it. However some should probably be avoided before you get a decent set of power armor due to the radiation present at the event site, like Scorched Earth for example. A Collossal Problem can be hard too for a lower level player. But that leaves plenty to do.
Any of the ones in Nuka World like Spin the Wheel Campfire Tales Line in the Sand Moonshine Jamboree One Violent Night Tea Time (really good for low levels) Eviction Notice Radiation Rumble (PA is good here, but not necessary) Uranium Fever
Any of these are fine for where you are. Bring lots of ammo. That Vampire Handmade is perfect to keep you in the fight with the life steal
The rewards are excellent for getting involved. Legendary cores you'll need, legendary weapons and armor are always good. Stimpaks, purified water, scrip, ammo, junk mats, plans and lots more. Plus a lot of XP and maybe some challenges complete while you're at it.
What I do is look at the map and in the lower left it will show active events. If I see one I want to do I make sure I have some ammo, and break out the PA if I need it at this event. You can then just warp to the event for free. Arrive at the location and head for the sound of the guns. Find a good spot, usually somewhere elevated is best. If you arrive and the shooting has begun just have at it and tag as many enemies as possible. If the shooting has not begun, then the players may be waiting until more have arrived. In this case just chill until someone kicks it off.
Some events require actions from the players, like One Violent Night requires players to play the musical instruments in the building to attract the boss. Particpate as desired.
When the event ends you can loot every enemy you hit. Use 'R' to loot multiple enemies at once. Move around a bit because this 'loot all' has a range and you won't see all the loot on the other side of the event locations, so hit several spots around the location to be sure you don't miss anything valuable. Then warp for free back to my camp to sort it all, and maybe warp to the mall to get rid of the stuff I don't want, like a 3-star pool cue or whatever.

Good post DBond.
Yeah Wigean, there is no penalty for dying in this game unless you are carrying a lot of "Junk" items. Those get dropped when you die so they can possibly be picked up by another player if you don't hurry and respawn to retrieve it.

I kind of know that, I think. I was philosophizing about this yesterday when I was wondering of how I should proceed. Why am I hesitating to enter a challenge that seems uneven? Probably dead in seconds. I wonder if this is due to the fact that most of the games I have played are flight sims? You choose your fights because yoiu want to survive and return to base. May be there is a difference in mentality because you have more experience in how the game should be played. Heh, sorry. Derailed.

Yeah, different mentality for sure. You don't have to preflight, and taxi. No arming switches and tanks to select for jettison. No MFDs to configure, or clearance to get.
Just pop back up and let 'er rip!
The rewards are too good to sit these out. And honestly your goal should be to get to 50 as quickly as possible so the economies stabilize. Doing events will help you level fast.
If I'm honest the events aren't all that great. Basically just camp and kill. But the rewards make it worth it.
I was also thinking about this the other day, what sort of event would I like to see? And the answer is something akin to capture the flag. A massive battlefield where players start at one end (like a one mile distance) and have to battle their way through the hordes to reach the other side. Where mutual support and momentum have an impact. Fire and maneuver. Where the players that opt to go light will finally have some sort of advantage (through their mobility).
As it is I have my favorite spots and I hop up there and basically it's a shooting gallery until the event completes. I'd like to see some different approaches to events.

What a coincidence. RL calling. Just got a SMS from the city that we need to boil the water. Wigean is out to buy pure water.

You could have gotten that from an event! I'm at level 141 I think. My goal is to hit 150 for the next legendary perk slot. Could use another double XP weekend to be honest!

Level 141 ! I am at Level 23. I entered a public event last night. Me alone. Had a endless fight with giant mutants while I tried to activate some signals. I made three signals I think Then I decided that this is too heavy for a solo mission and called it quits. I don`t now if I got a reward or not. Now I have to figure out what to do with this guy called "Beckett". I rescued him out of prison and built his bar at my camp. Now he is making noise, and I think he wants me to do more of his missions. Then there is Overseer. I went to her house and activated some quests I guess. I think I will deactivate some of the quests for the moment. The right side of my monitor is almost full.

Yeah, I'd suggest deactivating any quest you are not currently looking to do, aside from maybe the follow the overseer so you can get markers when you're close to one of the chests. Location markers appear on the map even if the quest is deactivated, hollow diamonds. This keeps the screen clean, and more importantly, removes many of the heading markers in the compass to prevent getting confused on which way to go.
I should have added one piece of advice to my post about events.... join the ones with several people already there. When you click on the map icon it will tell you how many are in. Don't let this discourage you, but you'll not be able to do most public events solo, especially at low level. You would not have gotten event rewards unless the complete message appears, and then the rewards will be listed on the screen like any other completed quest.
For Beckett, just keep talking to him. He will keep giving you quests, and there are quite a few, at least 15 I think. He's also a vendor. There is a very nice weapon waiting at the end if you do them all.

It should be noted too that there are a number of event types. Daily, public, daily ops and so on. Daily events (not ops) can be done solo. Public Events are the ones we are advising, and those will be hard to do solo. https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_76_eventsDaily events like Strange Brew are easy to do solo. Heart of the Enemy is one I do a lot because all you need is a scorchbeast DNA sample, and those things are all over the place. Cop a Squatter is one of my favorites. You get this from the chief in Watoga. You are tasked with clearing a location of the enemies. But as long as you have this quest, it will complete even if another player kills them while you're in the same server. That happens a lot and the rewards are given even if you didn't lift a finger. In that wiki link you see the list of Public Events. It isn't complete I don't think, but those are the ones that PM and I are on about..

That Overseer may be a bit on the old side but did you see the body on her? It's too bad amorous side quests are not a thing with the Fallout games.

Hit 142 last night. Panzer is over 1100! It has taken me over 300 hours to get this far, so it would take over 2100 to get that far, at the same burn rate. Quite an achievement to level up as high as Panzer has. The treasure hunters are back, and I like those things. Is it me are have there been no mutated events for a few weeks now?

There were mutated events less than 2 weeks ago. I'm surprised that you somehow missed them. Yeah, I think I'm level 1146 now but I still come across other players who are in the 3k and 4k range!

Yeah, I've missed them completely. Haven't seen one in weeks. 1st members get mutated party packs from these events and those are really nice. The treasure hunters will help fill that void
