FDR married Eleanor Roosevelt. Her last name before marrying FDR was already Roosevelt. She was the niece of President Theodore Roosevelt and also FDR's cousin. Isn't that a crime???

I believe the current laws stipulate no marriage with first cousins but distant cousins are exempt. I believe FDR and Eleanor were distant cousins.

The war was already long won by the time he died. He only died about 3 weeks before V-E Day.

I have little doubt FDR would have used the Atomic bomb...after all, he had it developed. It might have involved other targets though.

Agree. FDR would have absolutely authorized the use of the 2 A-bombs on Japan.

Still watching Detective type TV series -- total 16 different Detective series.

We've "retired" some because we found them lacking.

Today, we retired "Colombo" and "Monk". Both less than half way through their complete multi-season series.

"Colombo" mostly lacks "who done it" atmosphere, You usually know "who done it" in the first scene.

Most "Monk" episodes spend way too much of each show being silly -- crime solving is secondary.

Not exactly a detective show but "Person of Interest" is very good also.

"Minority Report" and "I Robot" are essentially detective stories in a sci-fi setting. I highly recommend those.

I saw "Chinatown" recently and highly recommend. Great private eye film, one of the best.
