It wasn't bad, but I think it was too dry and realistic (was based on novel written by a CIA operative) for casual viewers who were probably expecting something more like a Bond or Bourne type film.
Not even Jennifer Lawrence’s star power could save Red Sparrow from being a box office dud.

This may have been mentioned before, but there is a British TV series about a policeman in 1940 England. It is interesting to see some of the issues they faced during the early days of the Battle of Britain. In addition, the son of the policeman becomes a Spitfire pilot and there are some great scenes of Spitfires flying around.
The name of the series is Foyls War.

It sounds almost absurd to say in general terms but Avatar 2's 134 million opening weekend fell significantly short of expectations. It's very doubtful it will hit 2 billion globally before its theatrical run is over.

I watched the first episode on SAS Rogue Heros, on Amazon Prime. From the creators of Peaky Blinders. 6 parts, I am not prepared to judge it yet. One thing I will comment on is the use of music. Hearing 1970's AC/DC and Black Sabbath felt a bit out of place. Good tunes, but it snaps you out of the 1940's.
That was the main complaint on Twitter was the music but the series is good.
I loved Peaky Blinders but I had issues with the modern music choices so if its the same folks it makes sense. I thought the music in PB worked well if you get past being a die hard "It's a movie from the teens and 20s I only want period music!"... kinda like when that newer Trekl movie came out and blasted Beasties Boys... my eyes still hurt from rolling them so hard at that one, but I'm a purist...i get it, I just don't care for injecting modern culture or norms into historical/era movies or shows. I can't wait to see this a be very judgmental but hope for the best.

I rather enjoyed the sound-track personally as I regarded this series as a historical romp but with quite a high standard of accuracy.

At least in the case of Star Trek, it took place in the future so that Beastie Boys song had already existed for a long time!

I like the music (Sabbath, Priest, Saxon). But hearing it takes me out of the time period the story is set in. 4 episodes in now, it definitely picks up and gets better.
Update: Finished the series. I enjoyed it. I hope there is another season.
