25 minutes and what the hell is happening? I also don't understand everything that's said. This is not my usual movie choice but the chess girl is in it.
Just watched the final episode of Better Call Saul. I'll just say I will miss the show, I do not want to post spoilers. It does have me thinking about doing a re watch (rare for me) Of Breaking Bad. It has been 9 years since that finale.
Must of been quite a task for the make-up department, 9 years after the finale of a series that ran for 5 years, making the cast look younger for a prequel! Jonathan Banks in particular looked on the edge of frailty. Without spoiling, I can visualise another series of Saul's life in the place he has ended up in, if you get my meaning!
He's getting away for the drugs and murder stories.
I can definitely understand that. Between BB and BCS he put in more than 10 years of his life into that genre! I'll be curious to learn more about this new show of his.

This was a dialogue heavy "set up" episode for the impending Targaryen civil war. This show really was cast very well. Matt Smith is the stand out actor for me so far.

Mediocre at best. If I hadn't been watching it with my brother I would have turned it off.
Stallone didn't look too bad for 76 but Javon Walton has to be the worst child actor I've seen for some while. I've not seen him in anything else so not sure if this is his usual standard or not.
Definitely won't be making my repeat watch list.

If you watch Jaws backwards, it's a heart warming story about a shark that spits out so many people that they have to open a beach.
After 3 episodes I can honestly say that this is a very worthy prequel to Game of Thrones. The writing and acting is first rate.

I saw two movies this weekend(well, three if I counted original "Robocop" which I do not because, well, I wanted to watch it yet again in surround sound...):
1) "Body Brokers" -- Not bad but something was missing. This was a nice character drama following an addict who leaves his girlfriend behind to go clean and the dark underworld that is the rehabilitation center business. The film claims this to be a true story and factual representation of the biz. Is this so? I do not know. I don't really participate with this section of society so I will assume that perhaps some of it was plausible, what with how government funding leads to corruption in business around the country. Regardless, not bad but needed tighter editing and far more scenes to pick up the pace. The film was listed as a thriller but definitely didn't pan out that way. The acting and dialogue was great, but whomever spliced all the shots together wound up with a different film than I think they started out to make. ** 3/4 out of **** stars.
2) "Fractured" -- Oh, this movie. Well, this was quite something. Unlike "Brokers," this was a thriller through and through, but with one slight deviation to the formula--and in this case, worked. There were many twists and turns and it kept zig zagging all the way until the finale. Rare is a picture that has me shouting at the screen--and when they do cause such a reaction, well, that's a darned good sign of proper writing and directing. This one was good. *** 1/2 out of **** stars.

I had to look up both of these since I had never heard of them. "Fractured" seems to have the kind of premise I would be interested in so I may check it out.

I am part way through season 4 of The Americans. As it takes place in the 80's, the show references The Day After, the made for TV movie. Do you remember this ? It was a big deal at the time. The media was warning parents to talk to their kids about it. I was in grade 9.

I did live on a military base when it was released. One with a large Ammo Depot.
By Dawn's Early Light is another good one. Loved Powers Boothe.

Yes. I remember vividly my first time watch and having a friend over the next day and rewinding and rewatching the nukes hitting, over and over. Horrifying movie.
"The Americans" was a good show, albeit some weaknesses in season 5.
