1) "Dead Heat" -- I love cop dramas. Heck, I love police anything, really. Police Quest 1 and 2 were two of my favorite games growing up. So naturally I enjoy a good cop buddy flick, too. But have you ever seen one where one of the buddies becomes a zombie cop? Probably not. This 1988 grade-A refined cheesefest was a treat. Very fun film that doesn't take itself too seriously and isn't afraid to deliver fan service, too, in 80s style. *** out of **** stars.
2) "Deep Water" -- I never have been a huge fan of Ben Affleck. He's always rubbed me as a bit of a douche, same as Vince Vaughn. They have that a-hole quality, except, for those of us who are a-holes(I am), there are the likeable, good a-holes and there are the jet-black, wicked bad ones. This pair has always struck me as the bad kind for whatever reason. In a strange twist of fate, Affleck plays the semi-victim to a female a-hole in this sometimes hard to watch 40's style noir thriller. Yes, they made movies like this back then and often they were pretty darned good. This isn't a bad film, but it isn't exactly a great one, either. I didn't fall asleep, I was paying attention the whole time, but the two characters end up being so despicable it's hard to to tell who to root for. I ended up wanting to see both of them tossed into a dumpster mailed to Chernobyl. Regardless, this wasn't a bad watch. ** 1/2 out of **** stars.

Yes, I suppose so. I did a quick scan of titles because I love Shakespeare but was sad when I saw nothing that matched exactly. There was a Kenneth Branaugh film on the list that might be interesting.

They weren't really zombies in R.I.P.D., though. Both of the cops were essentially spirits that took the physical shape of some other person. Also, R.I.P.D. sucked compared to this. I rated that one * 1/2 out of ****. "Dead Heat" is vastly superior and far more entertaining.
I haven't seen these and many I am not aware of. Many of them I am not interested in paying to watch at home or in theater. A movie about Tamy Faye? About a dog? A Shakespeare play? The Belfast war? Who puts licorice on pizza? Not the slightly interested.
Just saw The last of James Bond films. It was a popcorn flick with lots going on.. I cant say its well done, but it was over the top. Not my kind of Bond film, where he changes for love. All in all I give a ok to watch if nothing else is on.
King Richard btw has nothing to do with Shakespeare, though Macbeth and West Side Story do - it is a sports adjacent biopic of the Williams sister's father.
I watched "After Yang" last night as I was falling asleep, and it's got an odd vibe, and I'll have to watch it again when I am more awake. That movie and "The Lobster" are interesting role choices for Colin Farrel, and I respect someone willing to take chances.
I did kind of like this song from the "After Yang" movie though.
Does "Moulin Rouge" count as a chick flick? I'm a big fan of that film so I may also need to turn in my man card.
