Normally, I dont watch any Political Convention programs. However, I made the exception to watch Gabby Gifford give her speech. She bespeaks of the Bravery and the Sprite of the Human Condition No tele prompter just coaches to Talk in front of the cameras. a Totally amazing performance After all she been through, She has my Respect. Kudos to her.
"The Hidden" is a cult classic and one of the best scifi B movies ever made in my opinion. It starred Kyle McLachlan playing an FBI agent a couple of years before he played an FBI agent AGAIN on Twin Peaks.

Another Kurosawa movie, Ikiru. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044741/ Good movie, if not nearly as exciting or fun as his samurai movies. The guy knows how to craft scenes and convey information with little to no spoken words.
She the worst assassin for hire ever. After every job she asks her boss why did have to kill her last target. Before killing each target she asks them if they know why she was send to assassinate them. Aren't assassins for hire suppose to be indifferent detached and cold? Their boss or client tells them to kill that person and they just do it!!
Does James Bond question every job before he uses his license to kill? James Bond's boss: Go kill Blofeld, 007! 007 asks: Why? He is not that bad of a guy!

It's a very good film but I admit that I only watched it once and have not felt the need to revisit it. I think it's just a combination of the film being quite depressing and the subject matter.

1) "A Most Violent Year" Started out pretty decent, and was throughout, but I was mad at the end at the excuse the main character used to live his life by, without any foundation demonstrated throughout. In fact, the modus he lived by was frankly a lie because he did anything but. Because of that poor development, or perhaps it was intentional, I give 2.75 stars out of 4.
2) "Little Children" Not at all what it sounds like. The subject matter was difficult to digest, that of the affair of two adults, and their children and spouses caught in between amongst a "Pulp Fictionesque" tie in with a sub-plot. Despite the challenging nature of the material that goes against my upbringing, the filmmaking was strong and it was a decent film. 3 stars out of 4. Btw, have I ever said Jennifer Connelly is a perfect 10, if not higher? I probably have. How the guy could have cheated on her I could not understand. She seemed nice enough throughout the picture.

Another was Master and Commander. Too bad it tanked as they did a good job of sticking to the spirit of the books and I wish they could have made a few more. The great soundtrack is an added bonus.

HFRO is the only Tom Clancy film that I consider to be a classic and I've really lost count on how many times I've seen it. If you get the film on bluray you should listen to the audio commentary by John McTiernan. He makes some very interesting comments about the making of the film.
Master & Commander is another classic but the subject matter doomed it with the mainstream multiplex audiences. There's NO way a naval warfare film set during the Napoleonic era was going to have wide appeal.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I usually watch pretty heavy stuff, but this is refreshingly light, charming and genuinely funny. Fans of Family Guy will definitely enjoy Alex Borstein's character.
