Tin Star on Amazon prime. People are either going to love it or hate it. I enjoyed it for what it was. It brings to mind Fargo the movie. It is wild that is for sure. There is a third and final season in the works.

Watched "Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007" yesterday on the MGM Channel. Very interesting. None of the usual fluffy "Bond/Bond Girls/Bond Villains" stuff, real behind-the-scenes material. How Ian Fleming came to write the novels and their mixed critical reception at the time; the fits and starts of getting Bond off the page and onto the screen (big and small); some of Cubby Broccoli's home movies and reminiscences of his children about having Connery and Moore at the house for cookouts and visits...REAL stuff. It addressed the falling out with Connery; Lazenby's short (but not short enough, IMO) stint and HIS version of why it was so short; Moore talking about the initial pressures and ultimate fun of taking on the role; how Brosnan got-lost-got it; Dalton's trip to the "darker side' of Bond; and Craig's selection and iteration. It also dealt with how Broccoli and Salzburg teamed up to create the Bond we've known and loved these many years (the name of the movie and Eon Productions came from the way they described the no-holds-barred approach they took...everything or nothing), and the legal wranglings that led to Kevin McClory giving us "Never Say Never Again".

Of course they paid homage to the songs that have become legendary and the sometimes already legendary singers who performed them. Shirley Bassey doing "Goldfinger"; Tom Jones reminding us that Bond "strikes.....like Thuuunnderbaaaalll"; and former Beatle (and future Sir) Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die", written and performed for (future Sir) Roger Moore's first outing as 007. And the end title sequence was accompanied by, in my opinion, the PERFECT Bond theme song...the one that sums up not only the movies but the character..."Nobody Does It Better" by Carly Simon from "The Spy Who Loved Me".

If you're a fan of the Bond movies, in general, it's worth catching.

Yeah, I'll definitely give this a watch. My understanding is that the producers had to pay Connery quite a hefty salary for him to return for "Diamonds are Forever". Connery's career floundered for several years after that but he got a second chance with his role in "The Untouchables" where he ended up winning an Oscar for best supporting actor and that essentially reignited his A list status in Hollywood.

That may have pushed him into the A list, PM, but "foundering" might be a bit drastic. "Zardoz", in 1974, certainly didn't do his career any favors, but he appeared in "Murder on the Orient Express" the same year. And while not every film he did between that and "The Untouchable" was box office gold I would hardly consider:

"The Wind and the Lion"
"The Man Who Would Be King"
"A Bridge Too Far"
"Highlander"
"The Name of the Rose"

floundering.

Anderson Affair

I saw "The Hitman's Bodyguard" last weekend. Fun movie.

I was hoping for better, but I agree it was fun. Honestly, I thought Selma Hayek stole the show. She reminded me of my late wife.

My mistake. The Connery film is The Anderson Tapes, not the Anderson Affair. It's a great film.

I'm really enjoying 'Dracula',the 2020 3 part series.

I've just finished the 2nd episode and the end of that was a really 'WTF' moment for me.

Will be finishing it off tonight.

I'd never heard of the actor who played Dracula,Claes Bang,but it is perfect casting in my opinion.

On Wiki, it says The Cage was a pilot that was rejected by NBC and wasn't seen until the 80's when it was put on videotape. NBC orders a new pilot Where No Man Has Gone Before. It's listed on Wiki and IMDB as episode 3 with The Man Trap as episode 1 and Charlie X as episode 2. Did NBC air the episodes out of order?

I must admit Uhura has nice legs and many of the Enterprise ladies crew are beautiful! No wonder Kirk is always horny!

Correct. Production order did not dictate air order. You can do that with a tv show where the "reset button" gets pressed at the end of every episode! The ONLY exception was the 2 part episode "The Menagerie" from season 1 which used footage from "The Cage".

I believe it was not uncommon for television shows NOT to air in the order they were filmed. Even today, an episode can run into some post-production problem that will create a delay or may become too sensitive because of actual events that occurred just before the originally planned air date. I read a book long ago on STtOS and that was cited as the reason that Roddenberry and company came up with the idea of "star dates".

Westworld's first episode of series 3. I will not give it away but I am very disappointed. I think this show has run out of steam long back during the 2nd season.
