I've read some very good reviews for "Black Sails" but the whole pirate genre really isn't my cup of tea.

Black Sails is very good. +1 for the boobies too 
If you watch Jaws backwards, it's a heart warming story about a shark that spits out so many people that they have to open a beach.

Now if some cable network made a series about the "Age of Sail" such as a show centering on the naval operations and engagements of the American Revolutionary War then I would most definitely watch that!

While you're here Panzer,can you recommend some American Civil War films and any Napoleon era stuff? Thanks For ACW you can't go wrong with these films, Gettysburg Gods & Generals Glory Cold Mountain For Napoleonic era my absolute favorites are Waterloo and War and Peace (the original Russian version from 1966).

I wanted to like this movie but it had so many flaws. What's funny is that it was an entirely European production but it used so many of the cliched Hollywood tropes that it ruined the movie for me. Still, it wasn't nearly as bad as "U-571".

I watched "Hidden Figures" on Saturday which centers on three African-American women who worked for NASA in the early 1960's and played an instrumental role in the Redstone and Mercury projects.
Overall I liked the film and thought it was a very inspiring story. It was nice seeing Kevin Costner again since I hadn't seen him in anything for a long time.

Yeah really! Talk about a total re-writing of history. I'll never forget what Harvey Keitel's character says when the US sailors take over the U-boat and then they have to hurry before the German destroyer catches up. He is ordered to get the U-boat going by the captain and he replies with "All the instruments are in German!!". Well..duh!

I really like "The Fifth Element" which is also directed by Luc Besson. You can tell right away that the movie was not made by an American director. I tried to like that movie but I just couldn't do it. Been so long since I last saw it to remember what I didn't like but I do remember a friend of mine and I watched it together and he just loved it and all I could think is "You have got to be kidding me". Wheels Heresy! Fifth Element is awesome. I always chuckle when Ruby Rhod shows up.

CoCo - Great movie. one of pixar's best imo. I know it's supposed to be a kid's movie but it is accessible to adults and has a universal message. It really pulled on the heart strings toward the end. if you are a pixar fan, this is a must see in the theater.

Thanks.I have Gettysburg in my watchlist on Amazon,the rest I'll check out That's one of my favorite all time war movies. It's quite long but I've never become bored watching it in multiple viewings. Its sequel was a tough watch however.

I got curious about "Combat" so I looked it up on IMDB and found out that Vic Morrow was the star of the show. Very sad how he ended up dying at just 53 years of age.  His death was terrible. what a way to go.
