Finishing up my first year of American Sign Language now. Through Grade/High/Post Secondary I tried Spanish, French & German which I did the best in, but forgotten so much. I find with the physical nature I pick it up and retain it far better than spoken languages.
Want to learn Serbo-Croatian. Know bits and pieces from my grand & great grandparents, and would like to at least expand upon that.

That one's on my list of things to do at some point, although I'd still prioritize Russian and maybe Arabic over it. Their repective countries and cultures are wlmost always in countries these days and I really despise that feeling of being fed information about what's happening in those places from various English speaking intermediaries.

To me German is just one harsh, ugly, evil sounding language.
I took a class for it in high school, along with French and Spanish.
It just seems to have a certain "tude" to it that I didn't like - regardless of who spoke it.
That happens a lot in learning German, where everyone is over enunciating and being too hard on the vowels. I actually like the sound, flow and tenor of German. It's precise, but still lyrical to my ear. But what do I know, I mostly listen to the Swabish, which is akin to Appalachian in the USA. The language that sounds absolutely chaotic and made up on the spot to me is Italian.

The Jedi Master We could wish  I meant a second language, other than French, where as the Flemish, most of them speak at least one other language, be it French, German or English. Take my youngest son, he is skilled with his hands, and he had to go to a school for those with a learning difficulty, he speaks Dutch and is fluent in English too, his older sister is fluent in Dutch, French, German and English, the other 3 kids have Dutch, English and French. Most people I know here can get along in English to a greater or lesser degree. My mate, Jos, has very little English, but can speak German fluently, It is great fun trying to hold a conversation with him, my bad Dutch and his poor English, we get on great

I'd like to be better with English, like I used to be.
Foreign languages? No. I took French in high school, a couple of years in college and some German. German being the more interesting IMO.
I do NOT have a head for learning another language, that's what I took away from all of those classes. It was terrible. LOL

More or less fluent in French, English and Mandarin.
Need to refine my swearing in Cantonese and Taiwanese, people tend to smile back. Irritating, really.
