Jesus, my Daughter lives less than a mile from the crash-site. I was going to go to her house Saturday to watch the show. Thunderbirds and Blue Angels in one day. 2016 is really a #%&*$#.

Speculatively, this sounds very eerily similar to Cpt Chris Striklin's crash in Thunderbird #6 back in 2003 at Mountain Home AFB (not to be confused with today's TB crash in Colorado).
Both pilots (both in the #6 opposing solo jet) were performing a Split-S on takeoff. In Cpt. Stricklin's case, the altimeter was improperly set and he began the maneuver at an altitude too low to complete it. Fortunately, he was able to eject a mere 0.8 seconds before his F16 impacted.
It will be awhile before the underlying cause of Captain Kuss' Split-S maneuver, and subsequent crash is published, but sadly, the result in his case was much more tragic.
It's definitely a difficult day for military aviation, and my heartfelt condolences go out to the members of Captain Kuss' family, friends and colleagues.

very tragic indeed, Thundersbirds announced they are standing down, obviously the Blues will be doing the same. Thunderbirds were supposed to come to Rhode Island next weekend, haven't seen them in 3-4 years...
